Austin Peay upsets top-seeded Belmont in OVC, 97-96 in OT

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Chris Horton scored 30 points, including a pair of free throws with a minute left in overtime and Austin Peay held on to upset top-seeded Belmont 97-96 on Friday night in an Ohio Valley Conference Tournament semifinal.

The eighth-seeded Governors (17-17) face No. 2 seed Tennessee-Martin (19-13) in Saturday's championship.

Horton was 8 of 11 from the field and made 14 of 16 free throws. Josh Robinson had 25 points and Jared Savage chipped in 21 for Austin Peay.

Evan Bradds scored 32 points to lead Belmont (20-11).

John Murry made a pair of free throws to give the Governors a 95-94 lead. Bradds committed a turnover and Amanze Egekeze missed two free throws on the Bruins' next two possessions before Horton made two from the line to make it a 3-point game.

Bradds missed a layup and Austin Luke a 3-point attempt to end it.
