Impact Sommer rolled his ankle while going to play a cross and was limping when he was brought off. This is an awful turn for Gladbach, and Sommer, who has been one of the top goalkeepers in Germany. Tobias Sippel came in to replace Sommer, and would get the starts in his place. The Gladbach defense has been inconsistent, though trending positively, giving Sippel some value in easier matches. Sommer will be a heavy doubt for Saturday's clash with Frankfurt.
