Leicester continues its defense of the FA Cup away to Nottingham Forest in the fourth round

Back with Leicester City Ndidi was pictured in training Tuesday over the international break after returning from the African Cup of Nations.

Impact Ndidi should be an option immediately after the break after missing two league matches while away. He figures to immediately come into the starting XI again, assuming he's fit. He's started in all but two matches this season when healthy and one of those he stayed on the bench because it was following an injury.

On international duty Ndidi will be with Nigeria for the Africa Cup of Nations and will miss Leicester City's next three matches, at minimum.

Impact Ndidi has been a mainstay in the starting XI for the club this season, including featuring in nine of the club's last 10 contests. In those outings, the defensive midfielder generated one goal on 10 shots (three on target), 39 tackles and 22 clearances. Given his more defensive role, Ndidi's absence may not significantly impact fantasy players though it will stretch an already thin Foxes squad.

It's hard to see him starting on a short week, especially following a hamstring injury, so it makes more sense for him to again come off the bench against Leeds on Sunday.

Impact This is a bit of a blow for Leicester, who are already dealing with defensive issues. They used a 4-4-2 in Ndidi's absence against Crystal Palace, using Boubakary Soumare and Youri Tielemans in central roles, something that resulted in two goals allowed in the second half.

Impact Despite dealing with a nagging groin injury early in the season, Ndidi still managed 25 starts, most of them in the midfield. He's a great complement to Youri Tielemans, but when needed, Ndidi moved to center-back, something Leicester will hope to avoid in the future.
