Romero made three saves but conceded two goals in Sunday's 2-1 defeat against the Timbers.
Impact
Romero was beaten by headers from Dairon Asprilla and George Fochive on Sunday as his side's three-game win streak was halted. He will try to bounce back next weekend against the 10th-placed Earthquakes, which have scored 32 goals in 25 matches this season.

ROTOWIRE
Concedes one in win
Romero conceded one goal and made no saves during Wednesday's 2-1 win over Austin.
Impact
Romero hasn't had to make a save in either of the last two matches but he's still come away with victories. With an attack that most teams would envy, winning is a much easier task for Romero than it sometimes can be. Up next is a trip to Portland which are tied for fifth-last in shots on goal in MLS.

Concedes two goals against Salt Lake
Romero made zero saves and conceded two goals in Sunday's 3-2 victory against Real Salt Lake.
Impact
Romero was beaten by strikes from Damir Kreilach and Anderson Julio on Sunday, but his team overcame them and won its second consecutive match. Romero should have an easier time Wednesday against bottom-of-the-table Austin FC, which have scored just 21 goals in 23 MLS matches this season.

Redeems himself with clean sheet
Romero recorded four saves and the clean sheet during a 4-0 win Friday versus Sporting Kansas City.

ROTOWIRE
Concedes three goals in El Trafico
Romero made two saves but conceded three goals in Saturday's 3-3 draw against the Galaxy.
Impact
Romero will be disappointed to have conceded a brace to Dejan Joveljic, and especially the late equalizer to Kevin Cabral in this rivalry clash. His last clean sheet came 10 games ago in early July, and that streak is unlikely to end Friday against Sporting KC, which have scored a Western Conference-high 37 goals in 22 matches this season.

Sees little action in 2-1 loss
Romero made one save and conceded twice in the 2-1 loss to Vancouver on Saturday.
Impact
Romero was effective in the loss Saturday, but he did not see many chances on net. The two goals that were conceded were more so thanks to his backline than his own positioning and skill. However, his track record continues to get worse after every match. In the last five matches, the keeper is averaging, 2.4 saves and 2.2 goals against per 90 minutes in all competitions. Those numbers are just about average if not on the bottom half of the league. Until he can start finding better form along with his defense, it is safer to look elsewhere.

Concedes four in defeat
Romero conceded four goals and made one save during Wednesday's 4-1 loss to Sporting KC.
Impact
Romero found out the hard way that skating by without clean sheets won't end up well against the highest scoring team in the Western Conference. He's now conceded 11 goals in his last five starts and will next face San Jose, which have put the fifth-most shots on target in MLS.

Impact
