Extends with NYCFC Romero has completed a contract extension with NYCFC, according to his club.

Impact Romero is going to stick around NYCFC for the next few seasons, as the goalie signed through the 2027/28 season, with an option for the 2028/29 campaign. He remains their backup keeper since joining the team, only making four MLS appearances with NYCFC. He will likely remain in a backup role moving forward.

The goalie previously played with LAFC and Toronto FC, totaling 24 appearances between the two teams while registering four clean sheets, 41 goals allowed and 57 saves. The 23-year-old most likely won't see much time as a starter this season, as he will probably only earn a role as a reserve option. He'll have to beat out Matt Freese and Luis Barraza if he wants any chance at seeing the field over the next year.
