Impact There's a decent chance Cantwell had a falling out with former manager Daniel Farke, which led to his absence the last six matches. At no point was an injury mentioned after appearing in the first five matches of the season, as he was out for personal and then fitness reasons. It wouldn't be surprising if he made the XI in Dean Smith's first match, possibly moving someone like Josh Sargent or Kieran Dowell out of the XI.

Now, Cantwell isn't an option despite training for two weeks. At this point, it seems likely Cantwell is upset with his role at the club and that'll lead to yet another absence. He started with the club's U23s on Friday instead.
