Returns to team training Becker (foot) returned to full team training Wednesday after spending around two and a half weeks away from the group due to a foot wound, according to the club.

Impact Becker's return to team training puts him in contention to make his comeback Sunday against Freiburg after his recent absence. The center-back will need to complete the remaining sessions without a setback, but he could immediately return to the starting XI if cleared. Becker had started every match this season before the injury, underlining his importance in Schalke's backline.

Faint hope for Freiburg return Becker (ankle) has only a faint hope of being available for Schalke's trip to Freiburg on Sunday, as he continues to recover from a flesh wound around his ankle, according to WAZ.

Impact Becker has been out for around two weeks since picking up the injury against Elversberg and missed both friendlies during the international break, costing him valuable training and match practice. If he is not ready or Schalke prefers not to take a risk, Maximilian Wober would likely step into the starting lineup, having looked in strong form recently while regularly coming off the bench.

Almost gives up costly goal in loss Becker made one tackle (won one) and produced four interceptions in the 1-0 loss to Koln on Saturday.

Impact Becker was rather helpful on the backline for the majority of the match. However, he was involved in a communication mishap with keeper Ralf Fahrmann. Becker was tracking the ball from a set-piece, but did not communicate with the keeper to come out and instead a goal was scored. Luckily for the two of them, it would eventually be called back. Schalke's backline and keeper have had a rough time communicating in general this season and their record shows it. It remains to be seen if there will be any changes made in the offseason and who will get axed along with them.
