Luigi Ferraris
Luigi Ferraris, Genoa, ITA
Alex Sala - Moves to Lecce Sala has joined Lecce on a permanent deal from Cordoba.
Impact Sala is coming off a solid season in Liga Segunda where he notched five goals and five assists in 37 matches. He'll compete with Medon Berisha and Thorir Helgason to serve as an offensive-minded box-to-box.
AUGUST 24, 2025 ROTOWIRE
Morten Frendrup - Wins five tackles against Lecce Frendrup created one scoring chance and had five tackles (five won), four clearances and one interception in Saturday's 0-0 draw against Lecce.
Impact Frendrup did marginally more than his midfield partner Patrizio Masini on offense, but mostly contributed in the passive phase, as Genoa went with a pretty aggressive lineup at home in the opener. His tasks often depend on the coach's choices. He scored twice and added 30 shots (nine on target), 14 key passes and 102 tackles in 2024/2025.
AUGUST 23, 2025 ROTOWIRE
Patrizio Masini - Very gritty in Lecce bout Masini generated six tackles (three won), three clearances, one block and one interception in Saturday's 0-0 draw against Lecce.
Impact Masini was very energetic and physical in the midfield, helping his defense keeping in check the opponents. Genoa didn't sign a direct competitor in the summer, so he'll continue to be the top choice next to Morten Frendrup. He scored once and logged 54 tackles, 34 cleances and 26 crosses (three accurate) in 26 games (16 starts) in the past campaign.
AUGUST 23, 2025 ROTOWIRE
Nicolae Stanciu - Takes three shots versus Lecce Stanciu recorded three shots (zero on goal), four crosses (zero accurate), two tackles (both won) and three corners in Saturday's 0-0 draw versus Lecce.
Impact Stanciu was very involved and often the main hub for the Genoa offense, which didn't look great as a whole in this one. He also tracked back a lot, coming away with a complete stat line. He led his club in attempts and deliveries, but with little precision. He came close to breaking the deadlock with a late free kick, but it hit the side netting.

Brooke Norton-Cuffy - Solid in Lecce fixture Norton-Cuffy registered four tackles (one won), four clearances and one interception in Saturday's 0-0 draw against Lecce.
Impact Norton-Cuffy only contributed defensively and limited his forays in this one, even Lecce controlled the proceedings for most of the game. He opened the season as the starting right-back over Stefano Sabelli, while he often starred as a winger last year. Genoa are deeper in the more offensive role thanks to the addition of Valentin Carboni, Albert Gronbaek and Nicolae Stanciu.

Aaron Martin - Held in check in Genoa match Martin recorded one shot (one on goal), two tackles (two won), and two crosses (zero accurate) and was booked in Saturday's 0-0 draw versus Lecce.
Impact Martin was the usual reference point but didn't send in as many deliveries as usual in a tight game. He also ceded some set-piece duties to his new teammates. He's still without a proper deputy. He concluded last season with a career-high eight assists thanks to a late barrage and launched 256 crosses (79 accurate), so seven per game.

Johan Vasquez - Logs six clearances against Lecce Vasquez had one tackle (zero won), one block and six clearances in Saturday's 0-0 draw versus Lecce.
Impact Vasquez put up decent stats even in a rather uneventful match. He'll again be the leader of the Genoa defense this season, partnering with either Alessandro Marcandalli, Leo Ostigard or Sebastian Otoa (thigh). He helped keep nine clean sheets in 36 games in 2024/2025, scoring three goals.
