Cristian Espinoza - Creates eight chances in win
Espinoza created eight chances and sent in 22 crosses (six accurate) during Saturday's 2-1 win over Austin.
Impact
Espinoza had another monster stat line to his account, creating a lot for teammates from both open play and set pieces and racking up more than 20 crosses for the second time over the last four starts. This performance capped another great season for the playmaker, who led all MLS players in both chances created and total crosses while ranking second in accurate crosses.

Cristian Arango - Takes five shots in win
Arango had five shots (one on target), made five tackles (all won) and drew two fouls during Saturday's 2-1 win over Austin.
Impact
Arango couldn't get back to the scoring column but we still can say he bounced back from the quiet outing on the previous game as the forward paced all players in shots attempted while also providing a lot of defensive help. In his first season with San Jose the forward wasn't as prolific as it was during stints with LAFC and Real Salt Lake but 13 goals and three assists over 30 starts are still solid numbers.

Earl Edwards Jr. - Allows one in season finale
Edwards Jr. made two saves and conceded two goals during Saturday's 2-1 win over Austin.
Impact
Edwards Jr. had his first appearance since May and was betrayed by a teammate's deflection on the lone goal scored by the opposition in the 22nd minute. The goalkeeper had a safe game the rest of the way and that was enough to do better than former starter Daniel mostly did throughout the entire campaign, especially over the last three months. If San Jose doesn't explore the market to find a new shot-stopper, competition could get interesting to see who gets the nod between the posts next year.

Niko Tsakiris - Scores winner against Austin
Tsarikis scored a goal off his lone shot after coming off the bench during Saturday's 2-1 win over Austin.
Impact
Tsarikis returned to the team after the FIFA U20 World Cup and was brought as part of a double substitution in the 73rd minute. Four minutes later, when everyone expected Cristian Espinoza to take a free kick close to the box, the youngster caught everyone by surprise with a spectacular finish that went in for what ended up being the game-winner for San Jose. This was the first career league goal for Tsarikis, who should be up for a bigger role and more playing time next year.

Jack Skahan - Assists off bench in win
Skahan made an assist and created two chances after coming off the bench during Saturday's 2-1 win over Austin.
Impact
Skahan was brought as part of a double substitution in the 73rd minute and needed just a pair of touches to make an impact as he assisted Josef Martinez for the goal that drew things level at 1-1 roughly 60 seconds after he took the pitch. This was the second assist over just five appearances this year for the midfielder, who struggled to find playing time during the entire campaign.

Josef Martinez - Scores in win
Martinez scored a goal off three shots (two on target) and created one chance during Saturday's 2-1 win over Austin.
Impact
Martinez had a very quiet first half but then came alive in the final frame and that included a powerful header off a cross from the left to draw things level at 1-1 in the 74th minute. This was the 14th goal of the year for the striker, who found the back of the net in six of the last eight games where he played from the opening whistle.

Reid Roberts - Out for finale
Roberts (lower body) is out for Saturday's clash with Austin, per the MLS injury report.
Impact
Roberts isn't going to be an option for Decision Day, with San Jose still fighting for a spot in the playoffs that likely means this is a more serious concern. Dave Romney is in line for the crucial start in central defense with Roberts out to close the regular season.

Daniel - Gives up four goals
Daniel had seven saves and allowed four goals in Sunday's 4-1 defeat versus Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
Impact
San Jose can still sneak into the playoffs but needed a better effort defensively in this game to have a real chance at the postseason. Even though Daniel had seven saves, he gave up four goals. He should have less trouble against Austin FC, a team which has only 35 goals in 32 league games.

Cristian Espinoza - Plenty of service
Espinoza generated one shot (zero on goal), 11 crosses (four accurate) and six corners in Sunday's 4-1 defeat against Vancouver Whitecaps FC. In addition, he was given a yellow car...
Impact
Espinoza has been a service machine but a lot of his crosses were not accurate in a game they simply had to be. The attacker should fare better if he keeps this volume up against Austin FC, a team which has allowed 43 goals in 32 MLS games.
