Backup option this season Romana was an unused substitute in the defeat against LAFC in the Western Conference Final.

Impact Romana missed the first half of the campaign due to injury, and he made just 10 MLS appearances (three starts) after returning to fitness in late June. The 24-year-old is firmly the backup option behind Julio Cascante and Ruben Gabrielsen in central defense for Austin heading into 2023.
