Haaland scores again as Man City maintains perfect start to the Premier League season

Norway striker Erling Haaland scores his third goal of the season as Manchester City beats Coventry 1-0 to stay top of the Premier League
6 DAYS AGO • Associated Press
Three shots in draw Marmoush registered three shots (zero on goal) in Saturday's 0-0 draw versus Nottingham Forest.
Impact Marmoush started his second straight game for Spurs Saturday and led the team with shots (three). All three of his shot attempts were in good spots for Marmoush, but he just couldn't find the target. He appears to be clearly the top option for Spurs at striker, and it's only a matter of time before he starts finding his groove.
6 DAYS AGO • ROTOWIRE
Productive in Spurs debut Marmoush generated three shots (one on goal) and three chances created in Saturday's 2-0 defeat against Newcastle United.
Impact Marmoush made his debut for Tottenham Saturday, just two days after joining the club on loan from Manchester City. His immediate inclusion in the starting XI is indicative of how the club feels about Richarlison and Dominic Solanke, and Marmoush had a performance worthy of a starter. He took three shots and created three chances on the attack, and while he didn't help Spurs find its first goal of the season, it was still a very positive performance given the circumstances. He'll hope to find his first goal Saturday at Nottingham Forest.

Available to play Marmoush is available to play in Saturday's clash against Newcastle United, according to the club.
Impact Marmoush joined Tottenham on a season long loan from Manchester City this summer, with an obligation to make the move permanent next year, bringing 16 goals across 62 appearances for City to his new club. His availability positions him to compete directly with Dominic Solanke for the starting center forward role, with his versatility also offering the possibility of both attackers featuring together.

Another departure from Man City as Marmoush joins big-spending Tottenham on loan

Another signing for Tottenham, another departure at Manchester City
AUGUST 27 • Associated Press
Joins Tottenham on loan Marmoush has joined Tottenham on a season-long loan from Manchester City, with the agreement including an obligation to make the move permanent next summer, the club announced.
Impact Marmoush arrives at Tottenham with significant Premier League and Bundesliga experience after recording 16 goals across 62 appearances for Manchester City. The Egypt international offers versatility across the front line, with his pace and goalscoring ability allowing him to operate both centrally and from the left wing. Marmoush should compete directly with Dominic Solanke for the starting center-forward role, while his ability to play out wide could also allow both attackers to feature together.

Ready for preseason after break Marmoush has returned to training with Manchester City and looks set for preseason after his participation with Egypt at the World Cup, the club announced.
Impact Marmoush did not register a goal or an assist across five appearances during the tournament, which ended in the round of 16 for Egypt. The forward endured an up and down first full season at City, contributing three goals and three assists while starting only eight of his 21 Premier League appearances, a modest return for a player who had been so prolific during his time at Eintracht Frankfurt. The versatile attacker, capable of playing centrally or from the flank, could see his role reshaped under new coach Enzo Maresca, though competition for forward spots remains fierce. Marmoush is expected to push for a larger role as preseason gets underway.
AUGUST 3 • ROTOWIRE
10 minutes in World Cup exit Marmoush recorded 10 minutes of play in Sunday's 3-2 loss to Argentina.
Impact Marmoush was dropped to the bench for Egypt as they faced Argentina, leading the forward to only 10 minutes of play at the end of the match. That said, he ended a rough World Cup campaign, as he would not earn a goal despite three starts, finishing a rough year between his club and international play. He would still record 11 shots during the tournament in his 326 minutes of play, although only one was on target.
JULY 12 • ROTOWIRE
Expected to start on bench Marmoush is expected to be left out of Egypt's starting lineup for Tuesday's clash against Argentina, according to journalist Ahmed Abdul Baset.
Impact Marmoush has struggled to make an impact at the World Cup, failing to score or find an assist through four appearances and managing just one shot on target from 11 attempts overall, including a missed one on one chance in the penalty shootout win over Australia. His underwhelming form appears to have cost him his starting spot as Egypt shifts its approach ahead of a difficult matchup with Argentina. If he does not feature from the opening whistle, expect Marmoush to be introduced later as a substitute option off the bench.
JULY 7 • ROTOWIRE
Misses big chance vs. Socceroos Marmoush generated two shots (zero on goal), two crosses (zero accurate) and two corners in Friday's 1-1 (5-3) penalty shootout victory over Australia.
Impact Marmoush could've allowed Egypt the extra time and shootout had he scored a one-on-one early in the second half. The Manchester City striker continues to be the main reference upfront for the Pharaohs, but his performances have been average at best. Through four World Cup appearances, Marmoush has yet to score and has tallied 11 shots, though just one of those has gone on target.
JULY 4 • ROTOWIRE
Lively off bench Marmoush registered one shot (zero on goal) and one cross (zero accurate) in Friday's 1-1 draw against Iran.
Impact Marmoush was surprisingly dropped from the starting lineup but came on at half time and picked up where he left off, causing problems and drawing fouls throughout his time on the pitch. The story of his tournament continues however as his efforts have yet to produce a goal or an assist, with one shot that failed to test the keeper and two crosses reflecting a night where the work rate was there but the end product was not. He is expected to return to the starting XI for the round of 32 against Australia, where getting off the mark will be the target against a side that kept two clean sheets across the group stage.

Shots still not converting Marmoush logged three shots (one on goal) during Egypt's 3-1 win Sunday against New Zealand.
Impact Again for the World Cup, Marmoush was positioned in front of three attacking midfielders, their trio including Emam Ashour, Mohamed Salah and Mostafa Ziko. All three have scored this WC, meaning the Egyptians' primary striker is their only non-scoring attacker thus far, at least right now. For the World Cup, his best shot was updated with a finesse effort nicely stopped by goalkeeper Maxime Teremoana Crocombe. Because of Marmoush's proven pedigree, he will continually be relied on up front, though Trezeguet may have narrowed the competition with his goal Sunday. The former's two appearances feature eight shots, four averaged per game.
JUNE 21 • ROTOWIRE
Threatening display without reward Marmoush registered five shots (zero on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and one corner in Monday's 1-1 draw against Belgium.
Impact Marmoush led the line for Egypt and while he found himself isolated at times, he looked dangerous whenever the ball reached him and was his side's most threatening presence throughout. He finished the game with five shots and created one chance, but his decision making let him down at key moments and prevented what could have been a more decisive contribution in front of goal. With New Zealand up next, the group's weakest defensive side on paper, the conditions should be considerably more favorable for him to get back among the goals at a moment when scoring could prove decisive in the race to top the group.

JUNE 15 • Associated Press
Established attacker for Egypt Marmoush is set to start in the middle of Egypt's offense and should offer versatility and finishing talent during his first World Cup.
Impact Marmoush is arguably the most in-form Egyptian forward prior to the World Cup despite serving as a bench option behind Erling Haaland for Manchester City. The 27-year-old has played 50 international games throughout his career, notching 11 goals over that span. His two goals in six appearances (five starts) at AFCON 2025 demonstrated he can deliver at major tournaments, and his set-piece ability adds another dimension to his output, though he'll compete with Mohamed Salah for corners and free kicks, and should be the second option from the penalty spot behind Salah. His role operating in the shadow of Egypt's captain could work in his favor from a fantasy standpoint if defenders focus their attention on Salah, allowing Marmoush to exploit the spaces that open up and occasionally outscore his more celebrated teammate. The highlight of his last club season came from his five goals and three assists over 1214 minutes across all competitions. He'll look to stay sharp and deliver shooting numbers, especially in the more favorable fixtures of the group stage.

Back-to-back games with goal Marmoush scored one goal to go with three shots (one on goal) in Wednesday's 3-0 win over Crystal Palace.
Impact Marmoush entered the starting XI Wednesday as Erling Haaland was given some rest, producing a strong 79 minutes of play. Despite a few poor attempts, the forward would still earn a goal, finding the net in the 40th minute. The Egyptian now has back-to-back games with a goal, a bright spot after seeing limited time much of the campaign. He now has three goals and three assists in 20 appearances (eight starts).

Impact Marmoush would enter later in the game as a substitute Saturday, a normal role for the forward this campaign, playing 30 minutes. He would earn a rare goal for this season, set up by fellow forward Erling Haaland in the 92nd minute for the final goal of the contest. Marmoush appears to be making some bright spots in a disappointing season time-wise this campaign, as he is up to give goal contributions after netting seven goals last season, possibly hinting at a future move for the Egyptian.
