PSG goalkeeper Donnarumma gets away with huge blunder against Brest

Goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has often been criticized for his erratic passing out from the back since joining Paris Saint-Germain
FEBRUARY 11, 2025 • Associated Press
Gianluigi Donnarumma - Easy clean sheet Donnarumma recorded two saves and allowed zero goals in Tuesday's 3-0 victory versus Brest.
Impact Donnarumma faced only two shots, stopped both of them and came away with a comfortable clean sheet in the first leg against Brest. The goalkeeper was never going to be overly tested by Brest and did his duty well to earn the win and clean sheet. Donnarumma is an overwhelming favorite almost every time he steps on the pitch in all competitions.

Fabian Ruiz - Quiet in win Ruiz had one shot (zero on goal) and one cross (zero accurate) in Tuesday's 3-0 win against Brest.
Impact Ruiz failed to get much done during Tuesday's win, it was a quiet performance from the midfielder, who did his duty well cycling possession but never really produced any end product. Ruiz is the least glamorous of the PSG midfielders, though he still has some upside just with how one-sided most PSG games tend to be.
FEBRUARY 11, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Achraf Hakimi - Assists in rout Hakimi assisted once to go with one cross (zero accurate) and two chances created in Tuesday's 3-0 win against Brest.
Impact Hakimi added his name to the scoresheet with a nice assist during the one-sided rout of Brest. The wing-back is excellent going forward, and offers plenty of goalscoring upside in a PSG side that normally runs over the competition. Against tougher opponents he does occasionally get pinned back, though that's not likely to be an issue until later in the Champions League.
FEBRUARY 11, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Vitinha - Nets Tuesday Vitinha scored one goal to go with three shots (two on goal) and one chance created in Tuesday's 3-0 win over Brest.
Impact Vitinha got back on the scoresheet during Tuesday's win, scoring a nice goal and nearly earning an assist as well. The midfielder has seen consistent minutes, though like everyone in this loaded PSG team he's always at risk of some rotation. Vitinha will be a solid box-to-box option when starting in all competitions.
FEBRUARY 11, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Ousmane Dembélé - Brace in win Dembele scored two goals to go with seven shots (two on goal) and two chances created in Tuesday's 3-0 victory over Brest.
Impact Dembele was at his brilliant best during Tuesday's win, scoring a brace and providing threat every time he got on the ball. The forward is one of the most in-form players in the world and is seemingly scoring for fun in all competitions. He should continue to be one of the top players in France if he can stay fit.

Bradley Barcola - Delivers assist against Monaco Barcola assisted once to go with zero corners and two chances created in Friday's 4-1 victory over Monaco.
Impact Barcola assisted Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's first goal for Paris right after halftime. Despite concerns about reduced playing time with the Georgian's arrival, he was repositioned to the right wing and has been even more involved. In that role, Barcola has recorded three assists and one goal in the last three matches. He will aim to contribute again Tuesday when Paris faces Brest in the Champions League.

Nuno Mendes - Assists in win Mendes assisted once to go with two crosses (one accurate) and three chances created in Friday's 4-1 victory versus Monaco.
Impact Mendes struggled at times on Friday with positioning and decision-making but still contributed with his second assist of the season, his first since late August. He also delivered fewer crosses than usual, possibly due to tactical instructions from Luis Enrique, as Desire Doue operated deeper in midfield and frequently occupied the left wing in attacking phases. This adjustment could impact Mendes' crossing stats in the future.

Desire Doue - Provides assist in victory Doue assisted once to go with two shots (one on goal), six crosses (zero accurate) and one chance created in Friday's 4-1 win over Monaco. In addition, he was given a yellow card i...
Impact Doue assisted Ousmane Dembele's first goal after showcasing his dribbling skills once again. The Frenchman was tested in a deeper midfield role for the second time in three Ligue 1 games, and it worked well as he recorded his third straight assist. With strong competition for attacking spots, he could continue featuring in midfield for the rest of the season. This role didn't limit him, as he frequently pushed up the left flank when Khvicha Kvaratskhelia drifted centrally, allowing him to deliver six crosses, a season-high, including the assist for Ousmane Dembele.

Vitinha - Scores direct freekick Vitinha scored one goal to go with three shots (one on goal) and two chances created in Friday's 4-1 win against Monaco.
Impact Vitinha impressed once again in midfield, contributing more offensively than defensively on Friday. He opened the scoring with a sublime direct free kick to the bottom right corner from a wide position, marking his fourth league goal. His strike coincided with the club announcing his five-year contract extension. He also matched his season high with three shots and created two chances. His next opportunity to contribute comes Tuesday against Brest in the Champions League.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia - Scores first goal with Paris Kvaratskhelia scored one goal to go with four shots (two on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and one corner in Friday's 4-1 victory versus Monaco.
Impact Kvaratskhelia scored his first goal for Paris against Monaco on Friday, also marking his first league goal since late October. He attempted four shots, his highest total so far with PSG. While it seemed like he and Bradley Barcola would compete for a starting role on the left flank, Luis Enrique surprised everyone by moving Ousmane Dembele to striker and Barcola to the right wing, leaving the left side to Kvaratskhelia. The adjustment has worked well, as they have contributed to eight goals together in the last two matches.

Ousmane Dembélé - Scores brace in victory Dembele scored two goals to go with four shots (three on goal) and two chances created in Friday's 4-1 victory against Monaco.
Impact Dembele scored twice again in Friday's match, bringing his total to 15 goals in his last eight appearances for PSG. He has been in excellent form, increasing his shots on target considerably compared to earlier in the season. He also recorded a season-high three tackles against Monaco, highlighting his current confidence. He will aim to maintain this level against Brest in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Gianluigi Donnarumma - Concedes one in win Donnarumma made two saves and allowed one goal in Friday's 4-1 victory over Monaco.
Impact Donnarumma conceded once in Friday's match but might have kept a clean sheet with better positioning on Denis Zakaria's goal. Soungoutou Magassa played a through ball that sent the midfielder into the box to finish into the bottom right corner. The Italian goalkeeper was beaten at his near post and will look to find a cleansheet Tuesday against Brest in the Champions League.
