Impact Vokins was supposedly injured, but he went the full 90 in the Nov. 7 contest, so it's unclear what his actual issue is. There's a chance manager Ralph Hasenhuttle simply didn't want to play him at left-back with the senior team. Vokins started one match last season in the Premier League in July and hasn't appeared since.

Out against Newcastle Vokins has an undisclosed injury and is unlikely for Friday's match, manager Ralph Hasenhuttl told reporters.

Impact Vokins is the perceived backup left-back for Southampton, but he's unfortunately injured at the same time as Ryan Bertrand. The youngster made just one start last season and is unlikely to find more playing time this season unless Bertrand has a more severe injury.
