Undergoes appendectomy Friday Atubolu had to undergo an emergency appendectomy on Friday and doesn't have a timetable for his return, the club announced Friday.

Impact The 22-year-old goalkeeper is expected to be the regular starter between the posts for Freiburg in the 2024/25 season, but this surgery puts his status for the season opener against Stuttgart on Aug. 24 in jeopardy. Atubolu made 44 appearances for Freiburg between the Bundesliga and the UEFA Europa League, conceding 72 goals while keeping 14 clean sheets.
