Breel Embolo - Hamstring injury confirmed Embolo suffered a hamstring injury in Switzerland's final match of the Euros and will be out "until further notice."
Impact Embolo will rest up over the next month and hope to be ready for at least one or two of Gladbach's matches in the upcoming preseason. This doesn't sound like a minor hamstring injury, so there's a chance this absence bleeds into the new campaign. The main goal will be for him to be fully healthy upon return to the pitch.

Yann Sommer - Stands tall in loss Sommer conceded one goal and made 10 saves during Friday's loss to Spain on penalties.
Impact Sommer's confidence was high after beating France on penalties in the Round of 16, but a failure to repeat the act Friday meant his performance is now history. Though he conceded 50 goals in 31 games for Borussia Monchengladbach last season, Sommer could be set for a big season if he's still riding high when the coming club season begins.
JULY 3, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Denis Zakaria - Concedes own goal in loss Zakaria conceded an own goal during Friday's loss to Spain on penalties.
Impact Zakaria was unfortunate to cause a heavy re-direction which sent Jordi Alba's shot past Yann Sommer in goal. Given that is was his first start of the tournament as well, things will look even more disappointing now that Switzerland's impressive run to the quarterfinals is over. With just 25 appearances made last season for Borussia Monchengladbach, Zakaria can certainly have a bigger influence than he currently does.
JULY 3, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Breel Embolo - Exits with injury Embolo was forced off in the 23rd minute against Spain on Friday with an apparent hamstring injury.
Impact Embolo has started all four matches for Switzerland this tournament in which he generated one goal on 11 shots (four on target), two crosses (zero accurate) and five chances created. With Switzerland trailing 1-0 to Spain when Embolo was subbed off, this could be the final minutes of Euro 2020 for the forward.
JULY 2, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Breel Embolo - Draws three fouls in win Embolo had one shot not on target, one chance created and three fouls drawn in Monday's win against France.
Impact Embolo did his usual work up front for Switzerland and it unfortunately didn't lead to a spot on the score-sheet. He was also subbed off early Monday, which isn't a good sign ahead of the next game against Spain. He's a great hold-up forward, but Haris Seferovic has been the one heading goals in for the Swiss.
JUNE 29, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Yann Sommer - Concedes three goals against France Sommer made five saves but conceded three goals in Monday's 3-3 (5-4 after penalties) defeat against France.
Impact Sommer suffered through a torrid stretch on Monday where his opponents showcased their superior talent and scored three goals in 20 minutes. But he recovered -- and so did his side, which equalized via goals from Haris Seferovic and Mario Gavranovic in the final 10 minutes of regulation -- and saved Kylian Mbappe's decisive penalty in the shootout, knocking out the tournament favorites and World Cup champions. On Friday, he has a quarterfinal clash against Spain, which have scored 10 goals in just their last two games.

Nico Elvedi - Starts every group match Elvedi started and went a full 90 in all three group matches, supplying three tackles won, six interceptions and six clearances.
Impact Elvedi doesn't have a clean sheet or overwhelming defensive numbers, so his fantasy value as a center-back is limited at best. A matchup with France in the first round of knockouts is unlikely to boost those numbers, as well.
JUNE 28, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Marcus Thuram - Not expected to play Thuram (groin) "won't be available probably" for Monday's Round of 16 match against Switzerland, according to manager Didier Deschamps via the AP.
Impact Thuram has yet to play in the tournament and an injury picked up in training will likely limit him at the start of the knockout rounds. Unless a host of players get caught in suspension issues during a compressed tournament, Thuram isn't expected to play much even if fit.
JUNE 27, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Stefan Lainer - Plays every minute in group stages Lainer scored in the opener to go with 10 crosses, nine tackles and seven clearances in three group-stage matches.
Impact Lainer held down the right flank for Austria in group stages, but they noticeably moved to a back four in the final game, which resulted in fewer crosses. That'll be something to monitor in the knockout rounds because since David Alaba gets forward a ton on the other side, Lainer may sit back more than he did in the first two group matches.
JUNE 25, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Marcus Thuram - Leaves training early Thuram was forced out of Thursday's training session with a possible groin issue, reports Julien Maynard of Telefoot.
Impact Thuram failed to make the bench in two of France's three group matches, so his absence doesn't change much in the squad. The forward is probably the third (or fourth) option off the bench behind Karim Benzema and Olivier Giroud, so unless something happens to them, he's not expected to see the pitch in the Euros.
JUNE 24, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Jonas Hofmann - Remains out Hofmann (knee) is not in the squad for Wednesday's match against Hungary.
Impact Hofmann remains out Wednesday and he's yet to make the squad for Germany in the Euros. He's on the verge of a return to training, but even if available, he's not expected to have a major role in the side.
JUNE 23, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Breel Embolo - Takes four shots during win Embolo took four shots (one on goal), created one scoring chance and drew four fouls during Sunday's 3-1 win over Turkey.
Impact Embolo bounced back from a quiet outing against Wales to cause Turkey's backline issues for most of the match. He's tough to mark due to his size, speed and intelligent interplay, which could cause issues Switzerland's Round of 16 opponent.
JUNE 21, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Yann Sommer - Concedes once during win Sommer made five saves and conceded one goal during Sunday's 3-1 win over Turkey.
Impact Sommer made a couple huge saves as Turkey finally found more space in attack. His heroics helped keep Switzerland in the tournament as they finished with four points in group A. They'll find out their next opponent as the rest of the group matches finish up this week, though whoever they play, you can expect Sommer will be back in net.

Breel Embolo - Held in check by Italy Embolo created one scoring chance, won three duels, had two successful take-ons and was dispossessed once in Wednesday's 0-3 loss to Italy.
Impact Embolo could replicate the performance he had versus Wales mostly because of the superior caliber of the opponent. He has scored once, taken six shots and created three chances in the first two matches. He could easily bounce back Sunday versus Turkey.
JUNE 17, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Yann Sommer - Gives up three goals versus Italy Sommer had no saves, three clearances and one punch and was beaten three times in Wednesday's 0-3 loss to Italy.
Impact Sommer could not do much on Manuel Locatelli's tap-in and two surgical attempts from distance again by the Sassuolo midfielder and by Ciro Immobile. He has surrendered four goals, made one save and three clearances in the first two matches. Switzerland will have an easier time in Sunday's game against Turkey.
JUNE 17, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Jonas Hofmann - Not in squad Tuesday Hofmann (knee) is not in the squad for Tuesday's match against France.
Impact Hofmann couldn't recover from a knee issue picked up in training last week and he misses the team Tuesday. It's still unknown the severity of the injury, though either way, he's not expected to be a regular in Germany's midfield.
JUNE 15, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Stefan Lainer - Impresses in first cap Lainer scored once, took one shot (one on target), sent four crosses (none accurate) and made four tackles (three won) in the 3-1 win against North Macedonia on Sunday.
Impact Lainer was rather decent in his first ever appearance at the international level. Not only did the wing-back influence the play on both sides, but he also managed to score his first goal for Austria. Lainer is going to remain a critical piece to the overall game for Austria if they are to make a run in the tournament. He is one of the best wing-backs you can find right now.
JUNE 13, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Breel Embolo - Scores against Wales Embolo scored a goal, took six shots (three on goal, and created two scoring chances.
Impact Embolo gave the Wales backline trouble throughout the match as his combination of intelligent interplay and physical dominance allowed him to find multiple opportunities to score. He gave Switzerland their lone goal with a header from a Xherdan Shaqiri corner kick. Embolo will be back in the lineup for Wednesday's match against Italy.
JUNE 13, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Yann Sommer - Concedes once during draw Sommer made one save and conceded one goal during Saturday's 1-1 draw against Wales.
Impact Sommer made a full-stretch early save to preserve the scoreline at zeros. He's as consistent as they come for a Switzerland side that will wish they could have converted more opportunities in front of net. They'll face Italy on Wednesday, a side that cruised to a 3-0 win over Turkey in their opening match. Sommer should see plenty of save opportunities in that match and could be a solid play if he can limit Italy's shot conversions.
JUNE 13, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Jonas Hofmann - Picks up knee issue Hofmann missed the second portion of training Friday because of a knee issue and his status for Tuesday's match is in doubt, reports Bild.
Impact The severity of Hofmann's issue is unknown, but it's not like he had a major role in the side anyway. The Monchengladbach player will serve as more of a backup to Toni Kroos in Germany's midfield when healthy after posting six goals and 11 assists this past league campaign.
JUNE 11, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Breel Embolo - Second forward for Euros Embolo started one of the two pre-Euro friendlies for Switzerland.
Impact Embolo scored five goals in 31 appearances at club level for Borussia Monchengladbach and may finally be a consistent starter at International level for his country. Though he hasn't shown as much production as other forwards to play in these friendly matches, he did start alongside top striker Haris Seferovic and that partnership looks to be first choice for now.

Yann Sommer - Concedes twice in win Sommer made six saves and conceded two goals during Saturday's 4-2 win over Werder Bremen.
Impact Sommer made some difficult saves during the whole match and looked on his way to a clean sheet, but then the goalkeeper was beaten twice in the closing minutes. Sommer finished his campaign with 83 saves, 50 goals conceded and seven clean sheets over 31 Bundesliga starts.
