Set to play Sunday Rodriguez (foot) has been discharged and is set to be an option for Sunday's trip to Real Madrid.

Impact Rodriguez has been out of action since Jan 28 after dealing with a foot injury. He is expected to be an option off the bench for the team again after making just one start in 11 appearance, while also making just four starts in 22 games played with the side since 2020.

Held to individual training Rodriguez has started to work individually following the injury to his foot, the club announced ahead of Friday's match against Almeria.

Impact Rodriguez was held out for the club's most recent match against Cadiz due to a foot issue he picked up in training but is starting his rehabilitation process now, having begun to train individually. This is good news for the player but won't affect the club much, as he has only started once all season while appearing 11 times. He still most likely won't appear this week against Almeria, but he will have a decent chance at returning next week against Real Madrid on Sunday if he is upgraded to team training during the week.

Rare start in Copa del Rey Rodriguez got the start and played 87 minutes during Wednesday's 3-1 win over Valencia.

Impact Rodriguez's chances have mostly come in the cup competitions this year. He's made nine La Liga appearances, but all of them have come off the bench. That said he has seen more minutes of late, including going 45 minutes against Mallorca last time out. If Rodriguez can continue to turn in good showings like these last two he could compete for a starting role in the second half of the league season.

Impact Rodriguez extended his contract with Celta Vigo through 2028 the club announced. The midfielder returned to fitness during pre-season and has now earned a new long-term deal with the club. When fit Rodriguez could play a significant role in the first team though injuries have hindered him in recent seasons.
