Ends season as backup
Berry was an unused substitute in Sunday's Decision Day defeat against FC Cincinnati.
Impact
Berry made 14 MLS appearances (eight starts) for D.C. after arriving via a trade from Columbus in July, but the 25-year-old could never consistently crack the XI up front and is markedly behind Taxi Fountas and Christian Benteke in the pecking order heading into 2023.

Takes two shots in loss
Berry took two shots and created two chances in Saturday's 6-0 defeat against the Union.
Impact
Berry was active going forward against Philadelphia but he was never really able to trouble his opponents. He hasn't made much of an impact in his seven appearances (five starts) since being traded to D.C. and he will likely soon be replaced in the XI by Christian Benteke.

Traded to D.C.
Berry was traded to D.C. United from Columbus in exchange for up to $325,000 in General Allocation Money, it was announced Wednesday.
Impact
Berry exploded onto the scene in 2021 with eight goals and one assist in 18 appearances (19 starts) but has only scored twice in 16 appearances (13 starts) this season. With Cucho Hernandez entrenched as the top option for the Crew, Berry will move onto a club in need of more attackers to build around Taxiarchis Fountas.

Takes shot in loss
Berry took a shot and created a chance in Saturday's 2-0 defeat against NYCFC. He also made two clearances in the match.
Impact
Berry had a quieter game against New York City on Saturday coming off the back of MLS goal drought last weekend. Columbus have scored two goals in their last 630 minutes of MLS action, going scoreless in six of their last seven games. Berry will need to step up as the center forward if the Crew's attack is ever going to click this season.

Berry scored one goal during a 2-2 draw Saturday at New England.
Impact
Berry logged his first MLS goal since February. He is averaging 0.2 goals across the Crew's 10 league games this year. Though his goal rate should be better, Berry remains a young striker acclimating to more expectations and has time for improvement.

Berry put in an active shift on both sides of the ball Saturday, just one day after he officially became the Crew's top striker when Gyasi Zardes was traded to Colorado. He scored eight goals in 2021, but he now has to shoulder more goal-scoring responsibility as his side hasn't found the net in over a month and Berry hasn't scored since the season opener.

Berry picked up right where he left off, leading the line and in the goals. The forward is a solid fantasy play and looks to be linking up well in his new more advanced role. Berry should be a top fantasy play away against San Jose on Saturday.
