Extends contract with Hertha Mittelstadt has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract extension with Hertha Berlin, the club announced Wednesday.

Impact Mittelstadt has been used a little sparingly this season behind Marvin Plattenhardt at left-back with just seven Bundesliga appearances (two starts), and he's on track to finish with his lowest amount of playing time since 2017/18. But the 25-year-old has now signed on with Hertha through the 2026/27 campaign as he's been with the club for more than a decade already.

Impact Mittelstadt has had next to no playing time and is on pace for a new career-low in minutes played and appearances since breaking into the first team. Mittelstadt will hope to find more playing time, and consistent minutes off the bench in the second half of the Bundesliga.

If Plattenhardt can't recover for Friday's visit to Borussia Monchengladbach, Mittelstadt will have one more chance to prove he deserves regular first-team minutes moving forward.

Mittelstadt ended the season with 22 chances created, right in line with his previous three campaigns (23, 22, 20), while sending in 85 crosses.
