Max Finkgrafe - Soccer News, Rumors, & Updates

Doubtful for Augsburg clash Finkgrafe (thigh) is doubtful for Saturday's Bundesliga clash against Augsburg after missing Wednesday's Champions League defeat against Manchester City, according to BuliNews.

Impact Finkgrafe continues to struggle with the thigh injury that prevented him from participating in Tuesday's training session and subsequently ruled him out of Leipzig's midweek European fixture. The defender has yet to receive confirmation of his availability for Saturday's encounter, leaving his involvement uncertain ahead of the final match before the November international break. His potential absence would have a limited impact on Leipzig's usual defensive setup, as Finkgrafe has primarily served as a rotational option under coach Martin Demichelis this season. He has made just one start across the Bundesliga and Champions League combined, with most of his opportunities coming in a supporting role.

Unavailable vs. Man City Finkgrafe is out of Wednesday's UCL match against Manchester City due to a thigh injury, manager Martin Demichelis revealed during Tuesday's pre-match press conference.

Impact Finkgrafe missed Tuesday's training session due to the injury, and he won't be an option Wednesday. His absence won't affect many fantasy decisions, however, as the defender has mostly been a depth option for Leipzig in 2026/27 and has made just one start between Bundesliga and UCL play so far.

Impact Finkgrafe got the start Friday, just his second of the season, and immediately rewarded it with an assist. The full-back was brought in as a depth option prior to the season and finally got his chance to shine Saturday. He created six chances and earned an assist and looked very dangerous at left-back. He's likely to return to a depth role despite this excellent showing.

Returns to bench Finkgrafe (injury) is on the bench for Saturday's clash against Bremen.

Impact Finkgrafe returned from the German U21 camp as a precaution due to a slight injury, but has recovered enough to earn a spot in the squad. The defender has started just once in seven appearances this season and figures to continue in his familiar role off the bench, picking up whatever minutes come his way. Leipzig will be relieved to have him available after initially sending him home from international duty out of caution.

Withdraws from international duty Finkgrafe has returned from international duty as a precaution due to injury, according to his club.

Impact Finkgraf will not finish the international break with the German U21s, as the defender suffered a slight injury. It has been deemed more of a precaution, hopefully still an option to play in Leipzig's return match. He has only started in one of his seven appearances, so it would be a minor loss, although he won't want to lose the few minutes he has gained recently.
