Max Aarons - Soccer News, Rumors, & Updates

Unused so far Aarons has yet to make an appearance during the first five weeks of the 2026/27 season.

Impact Aarons is apparently set to continue in a deep role on Bournemouth's roster, given that he hasn't been considered even for a bench role, with all of Adam Smith, Juanlu and Lewis Cook ahead of him. While Aarons remains part of the squad, a departure or loan later in the season could be a viable possibility if he continues to struggle for playing time.

Returning to Bournemouth Aarons has been retained by his parent club Bournemouth following his loan spell at Rangers, the team announced.

Impact Aarons recorded one goal along with averages of 0.8 tackles and 0.7 clearances per game over 21 matches played (eight starts) during the 2025/26 Scottish Premiership season. He has featured as a right-back, but he's expected to face plenty of competition for that spot in his parent team, with Adam Smith and Alex Jimenez both involved last year, and Julian Araujo also returning from loan.

Returns to bench Aarons (calf) is on the bench for Wednesday's match against Alaves.

Impact Aarons is returning to the team sheet Wednesday after some calf issues, with the defender seeing a spot on the bench. He has only appeared in two games since heading on loan to Valencia and will likely remain in a bench role the remainder of the campaign.

Late call Wednesday Aarons (calf) will travel with the squad and will be a late call for Wednesday's clash against Alaves, coach Carlos Corberan said in the press conference.

Impact Aarons trained on Monday but is still dealing with some discomfort in his calf. That said, he will travel with the squad and be a late decision for Wednesday's game, suggesting he is very close to making his return to the squad. If deemed fit enough to be in the match squad, he should return to his bench role as he had recently.

Back in team training Monday Aarons (calf) was spotted in team training on Monday following the injury that sidelined him for Saturday's game, according to Super Deporte.

Impact Aarons was back in team training on Monday, suggesting that the calf injury that sidelined him in the last contest was a minor one and that he could return as soon as Wednesday's clash against Alaves. That said, he should only be a bench option moving forward, just like in recent weeks.

MAY 13, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Dealing with calf injury Aarons was ruled out of Saturday's 3-0 win against Getafe due to a calf injury, according to Corner Che.

Impact Aarons could make the squad list for Saturday's game despite a calf injury. He will likely be assessed in the coming days to determine the extent of the issue and whether he can be available for Wednesday's clash against Alaves. That said, he has been only an unused substitute except for one game since late January, so his potential absence will not impact the starting XI.

Loaned to Valencia Aarons has been sent on loan to Valencia from Bournemouth, according to his parent club.

Impact Aarons is heading to Spain for the remainder of the campaign, as he has been loaned to Valencia from the Cherries. This move only makes sense for the defender, as he has appeared in a minimal four games (two starts). He will return to Bournemouth following the end of the campaign, as Valencia does not appear to have an option to buy.

JANUARY 13, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Yet to feature this season Aarons has yet to play a single minute for Bournemouth this season.

Impact The defender hasn't played for the Cherries in the first seven matches of the 2024/25 campaign, and it doesn't seem as if that situation will change any time soon. That means his fantasy value will continue to be almost minimal.

Available Saturday Aarons is available for Saturday's trip to Everton, according to manager Andoni Iraola."We will recover Max Aarons from the other day because he was ill, so he can come with us."

Impact Aarons is back available after an illness forced him to the sideline last time out. The right-back has been linked to a move away from the club, but appears to be fit. Aarons is currently the third choice right-back, but he is a solid option, if ever needed in the first team or even just for cup competitions.

AUGUST 30, 2024 • ROTOWIRE

Decent prior to injuries Aarons recorded one assist and kept on clean sheet in 20 appearances (13 starts) this past season.

Impact Aarons started 11 of the first 13 matches of the season at right-back and played well, especially on the defensive end. He then suffered multiple hamstring injuries and appeared in just nine of the final 27 matches with Adam Smith taking over the role. Ultimately it was a disappointing debut season with Bournemouth, so the 24-year-old will look to bounce back next season.

Impact Aarons returning would be a huge boon for The Cherries and he seems set to do so. The right-back should even be fit enough for the starting XI if he can get two full weeks of training under his belt before Saturday's clash.

Impact While the club hasn't provided a specific recovery timeline, the news on Aarons doesn't seem optimistic considering he missed roughly a month with a prior hamstring problem. Given that potential recovery timeline, it's possible the defender will be ready to return in late February or perhaps early March. Lloyd Kelly figures to get an extended run with Aarons shelved.

Impact Aarons should be considered a heavy doubt for Thursday's FA Cup clash with Swansea, though it didn't seem as though he had been officially ruled out yet. The defender was just two matches back from a previous hamstring injury that cost him a month of the 2023/24 campaign. Lloyd Kelly replaced Aarons against Liverpool and could do so again if needed.

JANUARY 22, 2024 • ROTOWIRE

Plays 45 minutes Aarons generated one tackle (one won) in Sunday's 3-1 defeat versus Tottenham Hotspur.

Impact Aarons returned to action Sunday after missing the last five matches with a hamstring injury. He was also an unused sub against Fulham on Dec 26, ending the 2023 years on the sidelines. He will now look to win back his starting back role from Adam Smith, who had started the last seven games while the defender was out injured.

Impact Aarons doesn't have any major change in his training outlook but it's good to see he continue to ramp up his work outside with the team. The right-back still isn't likely to be back before the winter break barring a surprise return to full training. Adam Smith has started and gone the full 90 in four matches in a row with Aarons injured.

DECEMBER 15, 2023 • ROTOWIRE

Training individually Aarons (hamstring) trained individually on the grass Friday, Bournemouth announced.

Impact Aarons took part in individual training as he continues to work his way back from the hamstring injury. The right-back took the starting job when he joined Bournemouth but Adam Smith has taken the starting job when Aarons is unavailable. Aarons will more likely than not return after the winter break.

Impact The win against Newcastle came at a cost for Bournemouth, as Aarons will miss time going forward. If it's a regular hamstring injury, he may only have two more weeks on the sidelines, but Iraola's comments didn't seem hopeful. Adam Smith, who received 34 starts last season, is set for some starts at right-back.

NOVEMBER 23, 2023 • ROTOWIRE

Assists in road loss Aarons assisted once to go with zero corners and two chances created in Saturday's 6-1 defeat to Manchester City.

Impact Aarons assisted Luis Sinisterra in the 74th minute, but Bournemouth was already four goals down and could not avoid the tough loss on the road. That was his first assist in the season. The right-back also logged the second-most clearances (four) for his side during the match.

NOVEMBER 6, 2023 • ROTOWIRE

Active off bench Aarons came off the bench for the final eight minutes of Wednesday's 2-1 loss to Liverpool.

Impact Aarons picked up an apparent injury last time out but it appears it wasn't serious. The defender should be fit and will be in for a tough clash away against Manchester City on Saturday. If Aarons suffers some sort of setback Adam Smith could be in line for another start.

NOVEMBER 1, 2023 • ROTOWIRE

Leaves with suspected injury Aarons was forced off in the second half of Saturday's match against Bournemouth with an injury.

Impact Aarons left the match in the 85th minute after spending time down injured on the pitch a few minutes earlier. More information about the extent of the fullback's injury should be available in the buildup to next week's match against Manchester City.

OCTOBER 28, 2023 • ROTOWIRE

Major role continues Aarons registered six tackles (four won) and one clearance in Saturday's 2-2 draw versus Brentford. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 51st minute.

Impact Aarons signed with Bournemouth two days before the season opener against West Ham and has started every single match. The right-back has immediately established himself in his new team and hasn't missed a beat in returning to the Premier League. Goals may be hard to come by with the Cherries but Aarons should still find volume on both sides of the ball.

SEPTEMBER 6, 2023 • ROTOWIRE

Signs with Cherries Aarons completed a transfer to Bournemouth from Norwich, Bournemouth announced Thursday.

Impact Aarons is headed to Bournemouth, an odd-ending to a multi-year saga that has surrounded the young right-back. Right-back is a major position of need for Bournemouth, even as soon as Saturday's opener against West Ham with both Adam Smith and Ryan Fredericks sidelined. It's unclear if Aarons will take the top job from Smith, though he's shown the ability to play a major role in the starting XI with 124 league appearances for Norwich in the past three seasons.
