All three of his outings with four shots have come in the last nine matches. However, following a streak of 10 matches of creating at least one chance, Longstaff has now failed to create a chance in each of his last two matches and has gone eight straight matches without a goal contribution. Three crosses in defeat Longstaff registered one shot (zero on goal), three crosses (zero accurate) and two corners in Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Inter Miami CF.

Impact Longstaff played 80 minutes in Saturday's 1-0 home defeat to Inter Miami before being replaced in the closing stages, registering one shot that failed to trouble Rocco Rios Novo, two corners and three crosses of which none found a teammate as Montreal struggled to break down Miami's organized defensive block. He was unable to impose himself against Casemiro and Inter Miami's midfield unit, with the visitors' composure and experience consistently winning the battle in the center of the park. Longstaff has two goals and three assists in 17 MLS appearances this season and his replacement with 10 minutes remaining underlined Montreal's difficulty in finding any creative spark from the midfield in what was a deeply frustrating home defeat.

Impact Despite being demoted from Toronto FC's starting XI on Wednesday, Longstaff played at least half an hour then and impressed during his short timeframe. Longstaff's number of total and accurate crosses Wednesday are season highs. Ideally for him, the Miami game is an indication of better form to come later but relatively soon, considering his statistical output has taken a notable dip since summer came along.
