Called up for Sassuolo match Nastasic (calf) has been included in Fiorentina's squad list to face Sassuolo Sunday.

Impact Nastasic is available after missing the last six matches due to a significant calf strain. He has mostly been a backup even when healthy, and starters Lucas Martinez Quarta and Nikola Milenkovic are currently fit. He has recorded one tackle, three interceptions and nine clearances in three games (one start) so far.

Impact Nastasic will sit out multiple matches and might not return in 2021 since it could take him up to six weeks to recover. He has been a backup thus far, but Fiorentina could have used in the next game given the suspensions of Lucas Martinez Quarta and Nikola Milenkovic. The coach will have to adapt somebody next to Igor, likely Lorenzo Venuti or Sofyan Amrabat.

Impact Nastasic picked up the injury in the friendly with Qatar and the Serbia doctors estimated that he would not have been available for the next game. He has played little so far, but Fiorentina will not have starters Nikola Milenkovic and Lucas Martinez Quarta against Milan.

Returns to Fiorentina Nastasic has joined Fiorentina on a permanent deal from Schalke 04, the club announced.

Impact Nastasic returns to Florence after nine years abroad spent between Manchester City and Schalke 04. He tallied 50 clearances, 26 interceptions and 11 tackles in 15 games in the past campaign. He will take German Pezzella's place in the roster, but he will have to fight for minutes with Lucas Martinez Quarta and Igor. Naturally, he is not available for the opener against Roma.
