Mark Travers - Soccer News, Rumors, & Updates

Limited to backup role Travers has yet to play a minute for Everton across all competitions this season.

Impact Travers remains firmly behind Jordan Pickford in Everton's goalkeeping hierarchy, with the England international continuing as the undisputed first choice. Opportunities have been particularly limited for Travers with Pickford also retaining his place in Carabao Cup matches, leaving few obvious routes to playing time. Barring an injury or absence for Pickford, Travers is likely to remain restricted to a backup role for much of the season.

His contribution undoubtedly ensured that the Cherries did not concede three points from the match. Kepa is likely to be back before Bournemouth's next against Manchester City which will relegate him back to the bench, but this performance was worthy of any starting EPL goalkeeper.

Six saves in loss to Gunners Travers registered six saves and conceded three goals in Saturday's 3-0 defeat to Arsenal.

Impact Travers was confident between the sticks Saturday despite facing an aggressive title chasing Arsenal at Highbury. His conceded goals, one a penalty, could not be put down to poor goalkeeping. He made six huge saves, all from assertive on goal efforts. He caused the penalty; it was a controversial call as to whether he took down Kai Havertz or if the German theatrically fell. The Irishman has established himself as starting keeper for the Cherries, he has delivered clean sheets from both his previous matches and has a good chance of building on that in Bournemouth's next against Brentford. The Bees have not scored in their last two games.

Impact Travers was busy on Tuesday as an in-form Manchester United fired 18 shots at goal, six of them being on-target. He continues to suffer from the poor performance of his defensive line, something the Cherries need to try and bolster during the current transfer window. From 11 appearances (10 starts) he has conceded 31, made 31 saves and delivered just two clean sheets. At 2.8 goals conceded per game he currently has the weakest record in the EPL.

First clean sheet since August Travers completed three saves in Saturday's 3-0 victory over Everton.

Impact Travers posted his first clean sheet since August and only his second of the season. No saves and concedes four in loss Travers conceded four and made no saves in the 4-3 defeat to Leeds on Saturday.

Impact Travers did not look on top form on Saturday. As starting goalkeeper while Neto recovers from his hamstring injury, he did not look like he was sharp enough to be effective. His poor match statistics say it all, from seven appearances (six starts) he has conceded 24, saved 18 and delivered just one clean sheet. He is likely to be starting goalkeeper for Bournemouth's next against Everton and is unlikely to deliver a performance that will enhance anyone's fantasy team score.

NOVEMBER 7, 2022 • ROTOWIRE

Concedes three in loss Travers made four saves in Bournemouth's 3-2 loss to Tottenham on Saturday.

Impact Travers made his first start on Saturday since he conceded nine at Liverpool in August. He will likely be the Cherries starting goalkeeping for some weeks as first pick Neto recovers from a hamstring injury, He made four big saves that required skill but should have done better in saving Tottenham's second goal; he committed himself to come out to meet a corner cross only to miss the ball and leave Ben Davies to head it home. This error, and some other signs of nervousness at crosses and corners, can probably be put down to the fact he has only played in six games this season. He will need to re-find his confidence for Bournemouth's next against Leeds who will be buoyed by their triumph on Saturday over Liverpool at Anfield. From six appearances (five starts) he has conceded 20, made 18 saves and delivered one clean sheet.
