That said, this would also kill his production, with his two-goal contributions the least he has registered in a league season since joining the club. As his role diminishes and the club brings in more youth on the wing, his time with City seems to be over as numerous clubs bid for his services, with teams in England and Italy seeming to be the top contenders.

That said, he even struggled to get anything going outside of his goal contributions, not being as explosive and elusive as years past. He will hope to find his legs again next season as manager Pep Guardiola doesn't appear to be ready to give up on him, as he is still a top player who holds a Premier League Player of the Season award.

This was also the Norwegians' worst season since joining City, which says a lot, seeing he had 22 goals, having bagged 32 and 44 goal contributions compared to his 25 this season. He will no doubt return next season just as lethal as ever and shouldn't take a step back, only looking forward to seeing another season like his record-setting debut season with City. With the club set to revamp the midfield, he will hope for some more help following the exit of Kevin De Bruyne, already looking to have a new goal-scoring companion in Omar Marmoush.

He would take a bit of time to get his legs underneath him, but eventually would bag a hat trick in February and wouldn't look back, earning a starting role and scoring four more goals. He averages just over three shots and just under a chance created per game and has been an instant sparkplug in a team losing Kevin De Bruyne, their longtime engine in the attack. That said, the attacker seems to be a perfect fit for Pep Guardiola's system and could be a terror for the rest of the league, especially if he can form a solid duo with forward Erling Haaland.
