Impact Maffeo appears to be a game-time decision for Friday's contest, as he has trained with the group ahead of the match following his knee injury that has caused him to miss the club's past seven games. This could be a nice addition back into the squad, as he is a regular starter when healthy, getting the start in 13 out of the 17 matches he has been available for, missing a plethora of games this season due to injuries. We will now have to wait until the team sheets are released to see the player's status, but if he is selected, expect him to only be on the bench, most likely being preserved following his long absence, getting a chance to test his legs in the later stages of the contest.

Martin Valjent - Won't play Friday Valjent is not an option for Friday's match against Barcelona, as manager Javier Aguirre reported, "Valjent and Omar are out."

Impact Valjent appears to be heading back to the sidelines, having been announced as out for the Barcelona match due to an undisclosed issue. The club has yet to release what the problem is with the defender, but the probable culprit is the knee injury he has been dealing with since the start of December. A timetable for the player's return is also unknown, but he will hope for only a short absence, as he has started in every match he has been an option for this season. With that being said, expect Siebe Van der Heyden or Copete to get the start in Valjent's place, remaining in that role until he is healthy again.
