Impact Kudus finally saw a meaningful outing, although he lacked efficiency during a tough cup contest. He's not yet in top shape following a lengthy recovery period from a muscular injury that sidelined him for most of the first half of the calendar year. However, if he reaches his former level, he'll be one of the team's most valuable and polyvalent midfielders, competing mainly with Savio on the right wing and with Mateus Fernandes, James Maddison and Conor Gallagher for a central spot.

That timeline slipped when he was left out of Saturday's opener against Brentford, and Tottenham now indicate he's also unlikely to feature against Charlton Athletic in the cup. With Newcastle United arriving quickly after, his availability for that one looks similarly uncertain, with the club leaning toward caution rather than risk. Tottenham, who have missed his creativity going forward, will be eager to have him back once the medical staff are satisfied he's ready.
