Impact Haak continues his bench role from the last two seasons as he enters his third full campaign with the senior side. He's only made two appearances off the bench, playing just 24 on the pitch with two tackles (two won).

Sees role limited again Haak will end the year making just 10 starts in 14 appearances during his fifth season with New York City F.C.

Impact Haak was able to to transition into a center back while Thiago Martins was injured, but since returned to his bench role. He also got minutes with New York City F.C II. At the age of 22, the midfielder is expected to have an increasing role with the more experience he gets playing in the MLS.

Impact Haak scored a wonderful goal for his first of his career. He's started the last eight matches at center back for the injured Thiago Martins. Now that he is back, Haak could compete with Martins for a permanent starting role, or if New York decide to stay with three center backs, he can start alongside Maxime Chanot and Martins, with either Tayvon Gray or Mitja Ilenic sharing playing time at outside midfield.

Starts at center back Saturday Haak generated three clearances and two interceptions in Saturday's 0-0 draw versus New England Revolution.

Impact Haak got his first start since Feb 25 after moving to center back with Thiago Martins (knee) injured. He only recorded three clearances, but also helped the team maintain the clean sheet. If Martins is back in time for June 10, he would have to compete with Tony Alfaro for the starting spot against Real Salt Lake with Maxine Chanot set to serve a one-match suspension (yellow card accumulation).

Impact Haak played well alongside Keaton Parks in defensive midfield versus Nashville while Alfredo Morales (lower body) was out injured, but he was only brought off the bench against Chicago on Saturday after the arrival of James Sands. The 21-year-old Haak should continue mostly as a reserve option in the position moving forward this season.

Re-signs with NYC FC Haak has re-signed with NYC FC, the club announced Wednesday.

Impact Haak was a pending free agent and has now guaranteed his future with the club through 2025. The midfielder also has an option for 2026. Haak was a depth option for the most part, making 17 appearances (eight starts) during the 2022 campaign.
