Called up to national team Raitala has been called up to the Finland National Team for upcoming World Cup qualifiers set to take place on Oct. 9 and 12.

Impact Raitala has appeared in just one of Minnesota's six MLS matches since the September window, but he will now miss next weekend's clash against Colorado while he's with the national team again. He could return to Minnesota in time for the Austin FC game on Oct. 16.

Will join national team Raitala was called up by Finland for upcoming matches during the September window, and he'll likely join his national side after Saturday's trip to Houston.

Impact Raitala has ridden the bench in each of the last eight games but still got called up by his country for these games. Should he need to miss any club matches, there may not be much of an impact on the lineup.

Impact Raitala will again be an option for Minnesota, but even prior to the Euros, he was moved to the bench for a couple matches. Throw in that he started every match for Finland and it probably makes more sense for him to come off the bench Saturday if he's indeed in the squad.

Needs time to return Raitala is expected to return by July 3 against San Jose after his Euro obligations with Finland were completed, according to Andy Greder of the Twin Cities Pioneer Press.

Impact Raitala started all three games at the Euros and will be given a little time to return to Minnesota and complete any needed quarantine protocols before rejoining his club teammates. He'll now hope to get back a starting spot at center-back, as Romain Metanire is firmly the first-choice on the right side for the Loons.

Impact Raitala spent most of the group stage on the back foot against some talented attacking opponents but isn't likely to lose his place as the starting right wing-back. If Finland do secure their advancement to the knockout rounds, Raitala should have some role to play even if it doesn't offer tremendous value.

Impact Raitala was dropped to the bench in recent Minnesota matches, which isn't a good sign for playing time with Finland. He'll likely serve in a backup role at center-back and may only get an appearance if Finland are knocked out of the tournament by their third group match.

Impact Raitala and the Minnesota back line finally held first clean sheet of the season with a magnificent defensive performance. Part of the reason for that stand may have been the change in goal and if that's the case the defender could be up for some much better times than 10 goals allowed in four outings.
