Staying with Burnley Rodriguez will remain at Burnley another season after signing a new contract.

Impact Rodriguez wasn't in the plans for Vincent Kompany in the Premier League and at 34 years old, he probably won't get much more time in the Championship. This past season he made 21 appearances with his seven starts coming before the turn of the year. Given the new, younger signings, Rodriguez is set to remain in more of a bench role as he closes out his career.

Impact Rodriguez made his third consecutive start and, despite not being as active as he was on the previous two, he finally scored his first goal of the season from the penalty spot to give his side the lead early in the second half. The striker couldn't produce much more than that, though, and saw the opposition coming from behind in the closing stages of the match to win all three points. Anyway, Rodriguez will hope the end of his scoring drought is a sign of better things to come and try to keep adding to his account during next Saturday's clash against Sheffield United.
