Impact Bednarek was rock-solid at the heart of the defense for the Saints as he dominated opposing forwards on the ground and in aerial plays and his only foul committed was a much-needed one as he prevent Beto from being in a breakaway situation against the goalkeeper. With 30 clearances, five interceptions and five blocks over his last four starts, the center-back is one of EPL's players with most fantasy upside.

Signs extension Bednarek has agreed to a new three-year contract with Southampton, according to the club.

Impact Bednarek has no intention of leaving the Saints anytime soon, with the defender having just extended his stay with the club for an additional three seasons. He has been a regular starter for the club going back to 2019, still holding that spot today after starting in the opening three matches of the season. That said, he is likely to remain in that role throughout the rest of his contract, still only 28.

Impact Bednarek left the match in the 34th minute after succumbing to broken ribs and it seems like he'll be out an extended period going forward. He's been a regular under Ruben Selles, but with he and Armel Bella-Kotchap being injury Saturday, Southampton's back line may look a bit different out of the break, as Mohammed Salisu was the only center-back option off the bench in that game against Tottenham.
