Extends contract with Philadelphia
Glesnes has signed a three-year contract extension with the Union, the club announced Wednesday.
Impact
Glesnes took a step up during his second season in Philadelphia, tallying four goals, two assists and 13 clean sheets in 36 MLS games this season, playing every single minute of the season at center back until he had to miss Sunday's Eastern Conference Final while in health and safety protocols. The 27-year-old has signed on until 2024 with this new deal.

Questionable against NYCFC
Glesnes is on MLS's health and safety protocols list and is questionable for Sunday's Eastern Conference Final against New York City.
Impact
Defenders Glesnes, Jack Elliott and Kai Wagner are all in health and safety protocols, along with eight other Union players ahead of Sunday's game. Philadelphia might be forced to dig deep into its roster if none are able to play.

Impact
Glesnes scored a wonderful and powerful strike in the 123rd minute of Saturday's game, advancing the Union to the Eastern Conference semifinals just before a penalty shootout would have been necessary. His defensive performance against the Red Bulls shouldn't be overlooked either, and he will want to have a similar performance against either No. 3 Nashville or No. 6 Orlando City.

Makes four clearances in draw
Glesnes made two tackles (one won), two interceptions, four clearances and one block and picked up a yellow card in Sunday's 1-1 draw at NY City FC.
Impact
Glesnes had a good defensive outing, but they failed to win on the road up one man since the first half. The centerback also received his eighth yellow card of the season, though, something to keep in mind when they play against Atlante on Nov 20.

Extends point streak to two games
Glesnes assisted once, created two chances and made one tackle (one won) in the 2-1 loss to New England on Sunday.
Impact
Glesnes was terrific in the loss Sunday. He also did much more than what his stats suggest. The defender has been showing immense offense lately and he continued that here. Glesnes pushed the pace of play from his own third multiple times and it eventually set up the only goal for the Union. He also continued to be a force on the line and he made multiple clearances. Glesnes is starting to bring the whole package and he could become a hot commodity if it continues.

Scores in shutout win
Glesnes scored on one of his two shots (one on target), held a clean sheet and added one tackle won and four clearances in Wednesday's 3-0 win over Toronto FC.
Impact
Glesnes delivered a brilliant stat line here. He finally snaps his dry spells in major contributions on both sides of the ball and snatches his third goal of the season and seventh clean sheet as he also has one assist from earlier in the campaign and has been a fantasy monster.

Glesnes recorded nine clearances, four interceptions and four tackles (three won) during a 2-1 win Saturday versus D.C. United.
Impact
Glesnes and Olivier Mbaizo both recorded four interceptions and won three tackles Saturday. However, the former supplied more valuable defense by logging a team-best nine clearances.

Scores on both nets in 3-3 draw
Glesnes gave up an own-goal, assisted once, created one chance and made one tackle (none won) in the 3-3 draw with Chicago on Saturday.
Impact
Glesnes was mediocre at best in the draw Saturday. The defender did very little in terms of defending and he managed to get an unlucky deflection off a cross in the opening minutes off the match that went into his own net. However, he would at least make up for it by setting up the second goal of the game for Philadelphia. Unless you need an abundance of clearances, there are better options from the Philadelphia's backline.

Saves game with rocket goal
Glesnes scored one goal from three shots (one on goal) and conceded a yellow card during Sunday's 2-2 draw with Atlanta United.
Impact
Glesnes seems to only score impressive goals from distance and he did just that with an equalizing strike so strong it bounced between the crossbar and ground three times before entering the goal. Seeing as this wasn't the best defensive performance for Glesnes, it's a good thing he has this kind of goal in his arsenal of skills when other areas are lacking. With three clean sheets kept in his his last four starts, Glesnes will next face Columbus, which are tied for the fifth-fewest goals scored in MLS.
