Francesco Magnanelli - Features in Coppa Italia Magnanelli (thigh) drew the start in Wednesday's cup tilt versus Cagliari.
Impact Magnanelli worked his way back from a thigh injury that cost him the last two matches. Sassuolo are currently without Matheus Henrique and Hamed Traore in the midfield, therefore he has more chances than usual of seeing some minutes in late-game situations. He has posted two tackles and two clearances in six appearances (two starts) so far. Sassuolo will visit Torino Sunday.

Christian Oliva - Returns to Italy Oliva has shaken off COVID-19 and has been allowed to fly back to Sardinia, Cagliari announced.
Impact Oliva tested positive in Uruguay as he extended his stay after the holidays for personal reasons. Despite the extended absence and his usually small role, he has a shot of starting Sunday versus Fiorentina considering that Cagliari are down multiple players due to an outbreak and other injuries. He posted 12 tackles, eight interceptions, six clearances and two chances in 14 Serie A appearances (three starts) in the past season and a a half.

Alessandro Deiola - Tests positive for COVID-19 Deiola has contracted Coronavirus, is asymptomatic and quarantining at home, Cagliari announced.
Impact Deiola will most likely miss Sunday's game versus Fiorentina, where Cagliari will be highly depleted considering the multiple absences across the formation. Riccardo Ladinetti or Christian Oliva could get a shot in the midfield.
