Jean-Paul Boetius - Heads to Hertha Boetius joined Hertha Berlin from Mainz on Monday. He's committed to a three-year contract with the capitol club.
Impact Boetius started just 19 times last season for Mainz and will now look to reinforce the midfield for his new side. While capable of marginal attacking production, Boetius is unlikely to be a top option in fantasy even if he gets back to starting every week.
15 HOURS AGO • ROTOWIRE
Rune Jarstein - On bench against Union Jarstein made the bench for Saturday's 3-1 loss to Union Berlin.
Impact Once the full-time starter, Jarstein hasn't played in a Bundesliga game since the 2020/21 campaign and most recently Oliver Christensen has taken on that gig.
16 HOURS AGO • ROTOWIRE
Oliver Christensen - Heroic despite loss Christensen made five saves and two clearances in Saturday's 3-1 loss versus Union Berlin.
Impact Christensen showed just why Hertha Berlin put their full faith in him for the 2022/23 campaign. The keeper was absolutely heroic stopping five of the eight shots he faced, though that somehow proved to not be enough for the win. Christensen will likely face high volume all season and his talent could be enough to cash in on that as a fantasy opportunity, though clean sheets will be nearly impossible to come by behind this defense.
2 DAYS AGO • ROTOWIRE
Stevan Jovetic - Assists off bench Jovetic assisted once to go with zero corners in Saturday's 3-1 defeat against Union Berlin.
Impact Jovetic came off the bench and provided one assist during Saturday's loss. The forward struggled with injuries in the 2021/22 campaign and has likely fallen out of the starting XI in the 2022/23 team. That said he should have some value off the bench and if there are injuries ahead of him in the starting XI Jovetic would be a more than competent replacement.
2 DAYS AGO • ROTOWIRE
Dodi Lukebakio - Nets in loss Lukebakio scored one goal to go with two shots (one on goal) and one cross (zero accurate) in Saturday's 3-1 defeat versus Union Berlin.
Impact Lukebakio scored in his first match back with Hertha after returning from loan. The midfielder has had plenty of success with Hertha in the past and will be hoping to replicate that now that he is back from loan. Lukebakio played the full 90 and will look to keep this good form going as he competes for a place in the starting XI in the early portion of the season.
2 DAYS AGO • ROTOWIRE
Marco Richter - Pictured in training Richter (tumor) was pictured in training as of Thursday, according to DW Sports.
Impact Richter made an unexpectedly rapid return after getting a tumor removed because he managed to avoid chemotherapy. After scoring five times last season, he'll be a key piece for a lesser side, though it's not fully certain when he'll play just yet.
4 DAYS AGO • ROTOWIRE
Jessic Ngankam - Training individually Ngankam (undisclosed) is training individually on Tuesday, Hertha announced.
Impact Ngankam is in individual training as Hertha finished their final friendly and move towards the start of the Bundesliga. The forward joins from the relegated Greuther Furth, where he did enough for Hertha to decide he's worth keeping in the Bundesliga. Ngankam was not available for Hertha's friendly with West Bromwich Albion earlier in the week and could face a race to be fit before the start of the campaign.
JULY 26 • ROTOWIRE
Omar Alderete - Not training Tuesday Alderete (undisclosed) is not training Tuesday, Hertha announced
Impact Alderete returned from a successful loan with Valencia but is likely to be transferred permanently before the start of the Bundesliga season. Whether it's a pending transfer or minor injury concern keeping him out of training Alderete is unlikely to play for Hertha in the 2022/23 campaign, though if they cannot find a suitable buyer it's possible he's reintegrated into the first team.
JULY 26 • ROTOWIRE
Dong-jun Lee - Doesn't train Tuesday Lee didn't participate in Tuesday's training session.
Impact Lee has played in friendlies so it's unlikely he's carrying the same injury that afflicted him towards the end of last season. Still, his absence of training provides a good time to catch up on his status. With just one start in four appearances last season, it will take an impressive improvement for him to make a big difference.

Hertha winger Richter nears return after tumor removed

Hertha Berlin says winger Marco Richter could be back in training next month after treatment for a testicular tumor
JULY 20 • ASSOCIATED PRESS
Santiago Ascacibar - Switching clubs Ascacibar departed from Hertha's training camp as he completes negotiations to transfer elsewhere, the club announced Wednesday.
Impact Ascacibar got his career back on track making 27 starts from 28 league appearances after combining for just 21 starts in the previous two campaigns. After also making an impressive 93 tackles, he'll seek a move to another club and likely end his time in the German capital.
JULY 20 • ROTOWIRE
Marco Richter - Back sooner than expected Richter is expected to return in two-to-three weeks after a tumor was found to be malignant after surgery but removed soon enough to prevent chemotherapy, manager Fredi Bobic annou...
Impact Richter is certainly fortunate in this situation, as recently Sebastien Haller and Timo Baumgartl are likely to be out far longer from similar situations. In this case, Richter could be back as soon as the opener Aug. 6 against Union Berlin or soon into the first month of the season. After scoring five goals in 30 appearances, Richter could a little extra value the sooner he makes his return.
JULY 20 • ROTOWIRE
Jordan Torunarigha - Likely to leave club Torunarigha has departed Hertha's training camp as he seeks to complete transfer negotiations to another club, it was announced Monday.
Impact Torunarigha missed multiple months of last season due to ankle and thigh injuries and has been seeking a new club to get his career back on track.
JULY 18 • ROTOWIRE
Chidera Ejuke - Joins Hertha on loan Ejuke joined Hertha Berlin on loan from CSKA Moscow for the 2022/23 season.
Impact Ejuke is coming off a solid season with five goals and five assists in 30 matches. He's able to play across the front line and will hope to bolster what was the third-worst scoring team in the Bundesliga a season ago.
JULY 13 • ROTOWIRE
Marco Richter - Out indefinitely after operation Richter is set to have an operation to surgically remove a tumor, Hertha Berlin announced Tuesday.
Impact Richter will be out for an indefinite amount of time as he recovers from this operation and hopefully can remain cancer-free. The 24-year-old scored five goals in 30 Bundesliga appearances (19 starts) last season in his debut campaign for Hertha, but Vladimir Darida could replace him on the right wing until he's able to return.
JULY 12 • ROTOWIRE
Kevin-Prince Boateng - Entering final season with Hertha Boateng announced Tuesday that he will be retiring at the end of the 2022/23 season.
Impact Boateng made 18 Bundesliga appearances (eight starts) in attacking midfield last season for Hertha, and the 35-year-old has confirmed that the upcoming campaign will be his last. He will end his career with the same club where he made his senior debut back in August 2005, and in between he has played for clubs in Italy, Spain, England and Turkey.
JUNE 28 • ROTOWIRE
Javairo Dilrosun - Dishes six assists for Bordeaux Dilrosun hauled in two goals and six assists in 32 Ligue 1 appearances (19 starts) for Bordeaux in season 20221/22.
Impact Dilrosun was a vital part of a dreadful campaign for the Girondins and also added 40 shots, 31 chances created and 69 crosses while taking 37 corners. He'll be hoping that this productive spell in France will help him boost his chances for playing time back with Hertha after getting merely six starts in his last two seasons with the German side.
JUNE 24 • ROTOWIRE
Krzysztof Piatek - Leaves Fiorentina Piatek is headed back to Berlin as Fiorentina did not activate their option to sign him permanently, SportMediaset reports.
Impact Piatek has bagged three goals in 14 appearances, adding 23 shots (seven on target) and six chances. He will probably transfer again in the summer, and Fiorentina remain in the picture in case they negotiated a lower price tag or a new loan, the outlet adds.
JUNE 17 • ROTOWIRE
Jonjoe Kenny - Signs with Hertha Berlin Kenny has signed a three-year deal with Hertha Berlin away from Everton.
Impact Kenny is back in Bundesliga after a somewhat failed attempt at Everton in the Premier League. He started 37 league matches the last four seasons in addition to starting 31 times for Schalke on loan in the 2019/20 campaign. It wouldn't be surprising if Kenny found another starting gig at Hertha after they barely stayed in Bundesliga this past season.
JUNE 14 • ROTOWIRE
Dodi Lukebakio - Quiet debut season Lukebakio scored once and provided two assists during 19 appearances (seven starts) in the Bundesliga.
Impact Lukebakio joined Wolfsburg from Hertha after scoring 12 goals and providing 11 assists in his final two seasons before the move. The hopes were sky-high for the midfielder, who slotted straight into the starting XI and failed to impress. He made only seven starts, largely due to poor form. With his loan set to expire Lukebakio will be headed back to Hertha, where he will hope to recapture his previous brilliance.
JUNE 8 • ROTOWIRE
Dedryck Boyata - Starts final eight matches Boyata started the final eight matches of the season as Hertha just managed to avoid relegation.
Impact Boyata started the final eight matches and proved to be absolutely clutch when he was called upon. The central defender dealt with illness and hasn't consistently started for Hertha during his time with the club. That said when an injury crisis struck Hertha Boyata stepped up and produced some consistent performers with a variety of defensive partners. Those points proved to be crucial as Hertha just barely remained in the Bundesliga.
JUNE 7 • ROTOWIRE
Linus Jasper Gechter - Joins first team Gechter made 13 appearances (six starts), tallying 15 tackles during the 2021/22 Bundesliga season.
Impact Gechter started the season with the Hertha youth teams before his excellent form during their mid-season injury crisis earned him a permanent role with the first team. The 19-year-old central defender might not be ready for a full match-load in the 2022/23 season, but barring set-backs his role is set to keep growing moving forward.
JUNE 7 • ROTOWIRE
Davie Selke - Struggles for playing time Selke made 25 appearances (10 starts), scoring four goals during the 2021/22 Bundesliga season.
Impact Selke made 25 appearances and 10 starts, more playing time than he was getting with Bremen, but no the nearly 2,00 minutes he had during his previous stint with Hertha. Still the forward did well as a rotational option, and proved to be a massive part of the team, helping them win a relegation play-off against Hamburger SV.
JUNE 7 • ROTOWIRE
Marco Richter - Thirty appearances, five goals Richter scored five times and provided one assist during 30 appearances (19 starts) in the Bundesliga.
Impact Richter gelled almost instantly with his new club after joining from Augsburg in the summer. The winger didn't need any sort of bedding in period and immediately started producing, while it's not the best return of his career, six goal contributions proved crucial as Hertha just avoided relegation. The winger played on either wing, and occasionally slotted in as a wing-back, that flexibility should give him guaranteed playing time in the 2022/23 campaign.
JUNE 7 • ROTOWIRE
Maximilian Mittelstadt - Five assists Mittelstadt provided five assists in 24 appearances (16 starts in the Bundesliga.
Impact Mittelstadt actually played the fewest minutes he has played for Hertha since breaking into the first team. Despite that he was still good for his best goal contribution return for the club. The left-back found his role largely as a rotational option, and a super sub off the bench sent out to create chances against tired defenses. Mittelstadt ended the season with 22 chances created, right in line with his previous three campaigns (23, 22, 20), while sending in 85 crosses. Mittelstadt's role off the bench as a rotational option should continue in the 2022/23 campaign.
