GAME LOG

Has preseason knock Hee-Chan had a muscular issue around his hip but has returned to training, team doctor Rob Chakraverty announced Tuesday.
Impact Hee-Chan doesn't need to be considered hurt, though missing a little time in preseason could set his fitness back for a full debut when the season begins Aug. 6 against Leeds United. Still, he's likely to play plenty due to injuries to Raul Jimenez (groin, knee). With five goals and one assist in his first EPL campaign for Wolves, Hee-Chan was able to get involved but surely has to be more productive.
JULY 27, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Three shots as sub in finale Hee-Chan took three shots in 68 minutes as substitute in their season finale loss to Liverpool.
Impact Hee-Chan replaced the injured Pedro Neto in the first half and was active on offense with a season-high three shots. The forward started in 20 of his 30 appearances in the season, but only four in their last nine games. He completed the campaign with five goals from 27 shots and one assist from 16 chances created, plus 27 tackles on defense.
JUNE 2, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Creates three chances against Burnley Hwang took two shots (one on target) and created three chances in Sunday's 1-0 defeat against Burnley. He also made a clearance and two interceptions in the match.
Impact Hwang was active going forward on Sunday but he couldn't find a way past opposing goalkeeper Nick Pope for a would-be equalizer. His last Premier League goal came two months ago against Arsenal, and he will want to end his drought next weekend against Brighton, which have conceded 42 times in 34 matches this season.
APRIL 24, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
On bench against Leeds Hwang (undisclosed) is on the bench for Friday's match against Leeds.
Impact Hwang had to leave early in last weekend's match and fortunately it looks like it wasn't a major issue. He'll come off the bench Friday and should be an option to feature in the starting XI following the international break.
MARCH 18, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Leaves early against Everton Hwang was forced off in the 15th minute of Sunday's match against Everton with an undisclosed injury.
Impact It's another injury for Hwang, who only recently returned from a hamstring injury. Sunday was his fifth-straight start, so Wolves may have to look elsewhere going forward with Pedro Neto and Daniel Podence likely to fight for starts.
MARCH 13, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Provides assist in win Hwang made an assist and had one off-target shot during Thursday's 4-0 win over Watford.
Impact Hwang assisted Raul Jimenez for the opening goal of the match in the 13th minute but couldn't offer further contributions while he was on the pitch, which led him to be subbed off after an hour. This was the first assist of the season for the attacker, who also scored five goals over 20 matches during this campaign. Up next for him is Sunday's visit to Everton.
MARCH 10, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Creates two chances Hwang created two chances and shot twice off goal during Sunday's 1-0 loss to West Ham.
Impact Hwang failed to get much going Sunday, that said, he was still the strongest creative option for Wolves. The forward has five goals on the season and is a strong fantasy play even with the departure of Adama Traore. Hwang will hope to get back in the goals Saturday, at home against Crystal Palace.
FEBRUARY 27, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Opens the scoring Thursday Hwang scored a goal while taking two shots (both on goal) and making three tackles (winning two) during Thursday's 2-1 loss to Arsenal.
Impact Hwang found the back of the net after ten minutes, opening the scoring in the match. The goal was the fifth of the season for the forward as he finished with team-high totals in shots and tackles in the loss.
FEBRUARY 24, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Returns against Spurs Hwang (hamstring) played nine minutes during a 2-0 win Sunday against Tottenham Hotspur.
Impact Hwang sat out Wolverhampton's previous five Premier League games because of a hamstring injury. But considering he is healthy now, fantasy managers should expect him regularly starting again and Daniel Podence playing off the Wolves bench more often.
FEBRUARY 17, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Back in squad Hwang (hamstring) is on the bench for Thursday's match against Arsenal.
Impact Wolves usually give limited injury information, so it's not overly surprising that Hwang is available again after the international break. He'll still have to work up his fitness, but a spot in the starting XI is possible in the coming weeks, especially if he can get minutes Thursday.
FEBRUARY 10, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Hopeful to train next week Hwang (hamstring) is hopeful to return to full training next week, he told Wolves TV on Wednesday. "My injury feels a lot better now and hopefully next week I can join the team in...
Impact Hwang has been out since Dec. 15 with a hamstring injury, so a return in early February is possible. He signed permanently with Wolves on Wednesday, hence the interview over the international break. For now, it's assumed he probably won't be ready for the next league match, but a full return to training could change that.
JANUARY 26, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Joining Wolves permanently Hwang will sign a permanent deal with Wolves until 2026 after the completion of his loan from RB Leipzig this summer.
Impact Hwang almost immediately found a job with Wolves after coming over from Leipzig at the beginning of the sesaon. At one point, he started 10-straight matches before injury. He's on four goals this season, which is better than anything he did at Leipzig the prior campaign.
JANUARY 26, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Stepping up recovery Hwang (hamstring) has begun jogging and is slowly working his way up to training.
Impact If Hwang has only begun jogging now, he probably won't be ready immediately after the international break. He's been out about a month with the hamstring injury and will need to be training in full before he's ready to compete for minutes again, something that will take another couple weeks.
JANUARY 20, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Out until February Hwang (hamstring) is expected to be able to rejoin Wolves in February, the club announced Monday.
Impact Hwang suffered a hamstring injury in the win against Brighton on Dec. 15, and he is expected to miss at least another month while he recovers. Francisco Trincao will likely see the greatest uptick in playing time while Hwang is sidelined, but Daniel Podence and Adama Traore will also have more important roles along the forward line as well.
DECEMBER 27, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Expected out extended period Hwang (hamstring) is expected to miss the upcoming holiday fixtures after he posted on Instagram that he'll "be back stronger."
Impact Wolves have yet to release any information on the injury, but it looks like a typical hamstring injury for Hwang, which would keep him out two or four weeks, at a minimum. Daniel Podence, Francisco Trincao and Adama Traore are all expected to benefit in his absence.
DECEMBER 21, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Likely out against Chelsea Hwang is still being assessed for an injury suffered midweek and he's unlikely to be available Sunday against Chelsea, confirmed manager Bruno Lage.
Impact There's a chance this is a muscle injury for Hwang, but the lack of news from Wolves makes it hard to project. If it's indeed a hamstring injury, he may not return before the year is over, likely leading to more time for Daniel Podence and Adama Traore in the attack.
DECEMBER 17, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Forced off early Wednesday Hwang was forced off in the 16th minute of Wednesday's match against Brighton with a possible muscle injury.
Impact Hwang tried to continue Wednesday, but he couldn't fight off his issue and was replaced by Adama Traore. It only added to Wolverhampton's problems, as Raul Jimenez is suspended. If it's a muscle injury, Hwang could end up missing multiple weeks, likely leading to more time for Daniel Podence and Traore.
DECEMBER 15, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Scores early in draw Hwang scored once on one shot during Saturday's one-all draw with Leeds.
Impact Hwang scored on the first shot of the match, and his only shot, during Saturday's draw. The forward was held relatively quiet after that, but the goal was enough for a strong fantasy day. He has been a boom-or-bust option recently, but when he scores he can put up huge points.
OCTOBER 23, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Nets brace Hwang scored once on two shots during Saturday's 2-1 win over Newcastle.
Impact Hwang scored his second and third goal of the season, matching his season-best in a top league. The forward isn't likely to get consistent time in the starting XI, but he certainly has boom potential for fantasy purposes. With a near-zero floor he's a risky play in any format.
OCTOBER 2, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Scores as substitute Hwang scored one goal from his only shot, made three tackles (all won) and one clearance in Saturday's 2-0 win at Watford.
Impact Hwang subbed on in the second half and scored their second goal in the 83rd minute to seal the deal. That was his first goal in the season, as the forward has yet to start (three appearances). He will now look to get the nod against Brentford on Saturday.
SEPTEMBER 13, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Loaned to Wolves Hwang has joined Wolverhampton on a season-long loan from Leipzig, the club announced Sunday.
Impact Hwang starred at RB Salzburg, posting 16 goals and 22 assists in 40 games in all competitions two seasons ago, but he only managed three starts for Leipzig last year. He now moves to the Premier League for this season, where he will still find tough competition in the forward positions, though Pedro Neto is out with a long term injury and Adama Traore could still leave the club before the end of the transfer window.
AUGUST 29, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Picks up knock in friendly Hee-Chan picked up an undisclosed knock in a preseason friendly, according to head coach Jesse Marsch.
Impact Hee-Chan has just over two weeks to recover his fitness before the league season begins, so he'll hope that whatever he's dealing with won't impact his status. With just one goal in 18 appearances last season, Hee-Chan needs to do more once he's fit.
