Impact Sporting KC manager Peter Vermes said Tuesday that Zusi is "going to be out a little while" with a quad strain he suffered against Dallas last weekend, with the club opting to take a conservative approach rather than rushing the 35-year-old back. Ben Sweat or Cameron Duke will likely fill in for him at right back until he can return.

Re-signs with Kansas City Zusi has signed a one-year contract with Sporting KC with the option to extend for an additional year, the club announced Thursday.

Impact Zusi remains just as important as ever to Kansas City, as he made 26 MLS starts at right back last season and scored a wonderful goal in the playoffs. He's 35 years old now, but he will still likely have a major role in the team in 2022.
