Diagnosed with ACL tear Pieragnolo will undergo reconstructive surgery due to an ACL tear in his right knee, Sassuolo announced.

Impact Pieragnolo was suspected of having sustained a severe injury, and the tests confirmed it. He will miss most of the season, as he'll need at least six months to recuperate. He had yet to be fielded while serving as Josh Doig's deputy at left-back. Fali Cande and Woyo Coulibaly can also man the position.

Picks up injury Pieragnolo "just went down in training and is taking tests. We hope not, but we fear it might be something serious," coach Fabio Grosso announced.

Impact Pieragnolo will be assessed in the coming days to define the extent of the injury and how much time he's going to miss. He has yet to play this campaign since he's behind Josh Doig and Fali Cande in the depth chart at the left-back position. Woyo Coulibaly can also fill in if need be.
