Traded to Dallas Dwyer has been traded from Toronto FC to FC Dallas in exchange for $50,000 in General Allocation Money, the club announced Monday.

Impact Dwyer has had an injury-plagued two seasons in MLS, making just six starts in his lone year with Toronto after recovering from a knee surgery that ruled him out for virtually all of 2020. He scored 24 goals in two-and-a-half years with Orlando City before his injury, and he will hope to reach those heights once again with this move to Dallas, who are in need of a striker after Ricardo Pepi left for Augsburg.

Makes TFC signing official Dwyer signed with Toronto FC on Wednesday as a free agent. He's agreed to a two-year contract with the Canadian club.

Impact Dwyer had been training with the club early into the current MLS season, and evidently he did enough during his trial to earn a two-year contract. With TFC still based out of Orlando where he lives, neither had to go far to make this agreement happen. Though things will change as restrictions on travel are lifted, Dwyer is still a capable striker in this league if he's given the chance to play consistently, as he scored 20 goals over a two-year period for Orlando City in 2018 and 2019.
