Completes first-team training Upamecano (hamstring) trained with the squad in the lead-up to Saturday's matchup versus Bayer Leverkusen.
Impact Upamecano's potential return to the squad would bolster a backline that is still without Kim Min-Jae (Asian Cup) and Alphonso Davies (knee). For his part, Upamecano has started all but one of his 16 Bundesliga appearances this season, generating 37 clearances, 26 tackles and one goal on 10 shots (four on target).

Training with ball Upamecano (hamstring) returned to training with the ball Monday, Bild reports.
Impact Upamecano got back in training Monday, though he is working with the ball individually still. Upamecano won't be back for a Saturday trip to Leverkusen, but he could return for a Feb. 18 trip to Bochum. Matthijs De Ligt will continue in the starting XI moving forward.
FEBRUARY 5, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Out for three weeks Upamecano will be out for about three weeks after picking up a thigh injury in the club's past match against Union Berlin on Wednesday, according to Dennis Brosda of Bild.
Impact Upamecano had to leave the pitch at halftime of Wednesday's match due to an undisclosed injury, and after testing, it was determined he has a thigh injury that could leave him out for the next three weeks. This is not an injury that will go over well within the club, as they are now without five of their defenders, as Konrad Laimer also went down injured against Berlin. The club will most likely call upon Matthijs De Ligt to start in the Frenchman's absence while they hope for a speedy recovery from Upamecano and a possible return in late February.
JANUARY 25, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Forced off at halftime Upamecano was forced off with an apparent injury at halftime of Wednesday's clash with Union Berlin.
Impact Upamecano did make it to the break but evidently whatever examinations showed that he shouldn't continue. New signing Eric Dier came on to replace Upamecano, and could see more playing time if the injury proves to be serious. Min-Jae Kim will likely miss at least two more matches at the Asian Cup, leaving a significant gap in the Bayern backline.
JANUARY 24, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Single shot in draw Upamecano recorded one shot (zero on goal) in Wednesday's 0-0 draw versus FC Copenhagen.
Impact Upamecano shot once and did enough to come away with the clean sheet in the scoreless draw. The center-back has been in and out of the starting XI as Bayern make the most of plenty of defensive options. When fit Upamecano should have a good chance to compete for a starting role alongside Min-Jae Kim.
NOVEMBER 29, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Nets on return Upamecano scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) in Saturday's 4-0 win over Borussia Dortmund.
Impact Upamecano returned to the starting XI after three matches on the sideline and made the most of it with a goal. While the center-back isn't a consistently offensive option he is a major set-piece threat and has the ability to put his name on the scoresheet. Upamecano should be a consistent starter as he was prior to his injury now that he is fit once more.
NOVEMBER 6, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Back in starting lineup Upamecano (hamstring) is in the starting XI for Saturday's match against Dortmund.
Impact Upamecano is finally back with the team after a three-match absence due to a hamstring injury. The French defender had started all but one match for the club before going down with his injury and should return to that role now that he is healthy.

Not likely for Saturday Upamecano (hamstring) still has to be evaluated by the team doctors and will likely sit out for Saturday's trip to Borussia Dortmund, according to manager Thomas Tuchel. "Whether D...
Impact Upamecano had just returned to individual training as his return is not too far along, though it seems to be too early for Saturday. With Matthijs De Ligt (knee) out for the next month, the defender wont rush too quickly to come back as he will likely be put right back into the starting XI for Bayer Munich.
NOVEMBER 3, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Training with ball Upamecano (hamstring) trained with the ball Monday, Victor Catalina reports.
Impact Upamecano returned to training individually with a ball and seems on pace to return in November. With any sort of muscular injury there's a high chance for reaggravation so Upamecano won't be rushed back into a major role. In the mean time Matthijs De Ligt will continue alongside Min-Jae Kim in the starting XI.
OCTOBER 23, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Running individually Upamecano (hamstring) returned to individual running Thursday, BILD reports.
Impact Upamecano is still working in an individual recovery program and was only participating in light running training. The defender is out for Saturday's trip to Mainz, but a return before the November could be on the table. Min-Jae Kim and Matthijs De Ligt will get the start in central defense for Saturday's match.

Bayern Munich defender Dayot Upamecano out for several weeks with a hamstring injury

Bayern Munich defender Dayot Upamecano has been ruled out for several weeks with a left hamstring injury
OCTOBER 11, 2023 • Associated Press
Ruled out indefinitely Upamecano has been diagnosed with a left hamstring injury that will keep him out of action indefinitely, the club announced Wednesday.
Impact Upamecano's injury, combined with that of Matthijs De Ligt (knee), leaves the club very thin in terms of center-back options. If neither player is available against Mainz on Oct. 21, the club may have to shift Konrad Laimer into a more defensive role or move right-back Noussair Mazraoui into the middle of the backline. At this point, it's hard to imagine Upamecano will be ready to play versus Mainz and could be out even longer.

Impact Upamecano is set for some time on the sidelines after picking up a thigh injury during national team camp. He has started eight of the nine matches for Bayern Munich at center back, totaling 21 clearances in that span. If Matthijs De Ligt can recover in time from his knee injury in time, he could see the start alongside Kim Min-Jae in the defense for the time being.
OCTOBER 10, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Starts against Leipzig Upamecano (groin) is in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against RB Leipzig.
Impact Upamecano completed Thursday's training session, and while he had to sit out the DFB Pokal against a lower-tier side, the aim was to have him ready for this pivotal league matchup. He'll partner with Min-Jae Kim at center-back.
SEPTEMBER 30, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Completes Thursday training session Upamecano (groin) was a full participant in training Thursday and could be an option versus RB Leipzig on Saturday.
Impact Upamecano's return to training, along with that of Kim Min-Jae (thigh), could prevent the club from having to significantly shuffle the backline. Prior to sitting out the DFB Pokal matchup due to his groin problem, Upamecano had started five of six matches for the club, recording 13 clearances, three shots (one on target) and six tackles (two won).
SEPTEMBER 28, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Sidelined with groin issue Upamecano is out for Tuesday's DFB Pokal clash due to a groin issue, Munich announced.
Impact Upamecano is out with a groin injury despite returning to the starting XI recently. Realistically this isn't a major issue, as the defender is just being rested against what is a non-threatening opponent. Still all three Munich senior center-backs are sidelined for the match, pushing Leon Goretzka and Noussair Mazraoui into central defense.
SEPTEMBER 26, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Back in starting XI Upamecano is starting in Friday's match against Leverkusen.
Impact Upamecano is once again fit, as he was listed in the starting XI for Friday's match against Leverkusen. The defender was back in training on Thursday and had a question mark over his head coming into this match, but is ready to go after being named to the squad. He should continue in his normal starting spot from here on out as long as he avoids injury.
SEPTEMBER 15, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Returns to training Upamecano was pictured training with the team ahead of Friday's match with Leversuken, per the team's Instagram story.
Impact Upamecano was back in training after missing time during the international break due to an undisclosed injury. The French defender has started all three matches this season for Bayern, and if he is deemed healthy, he will most likely return to his normal starting spot. If he is unable to compete, expect Matthijs De Ligt to take over in the defense.
SEPTEMBER 14, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Absent from training Upamecano (undisclosed) did not train with France on Monday, RMC Sport reports.
Impact Upamecano picked up an undisclosed issue and missed training Monday. It's a concern for the center-back who is a doubt for Tuesday's clash with Germany and for Friday's with Bayer Leverkusen. With such short rest between the two matches any aggravation of an issue would almost certainly rule out Upamecano.
SEPTEMBER 11, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Constant in defense Upamecano started and went the full 90 in all three matches before the international break.
Impact Upamecano has been a very consistent starting option alongside Kim Min-Jae in the center of the defense. The defender has kept Matthijs De Ligt out of the first team, an impressive task. Still as the Champions League commences it seems likely Upamecano could be rotated either in European or domestic competition.
SEPTEMBER 7, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Ends season on high note Upamecano started 36 times in 39 appearances in all competitions, recording an assist with 89 clearances and 79 tackles (45 won) this season.
Impact Upamecano started his last match of the season after picking up a thigh injury late in the season. He averaged about 2.2 clearances per match while keeping his starting center back role this season. He signed with the club long-tern in 2021, keeping him the leader of the defense for another two seasons.
JUNE 15, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
On bench vs. Schalke Upamecano (thigh) is in Bayern's match day squad for Saturday's clash against FC Schalke.
Impact Upamecano returns to the squad Saturday after missing Bayern's last two games with a torn hamstring muscle. He could see some playing time off the bench while Benjamin Pavard continues as the starter alongside Matthijs De Ligt in central defense.
MAY 13, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Back to team training Upamecano (thigh) is back to training with the team ahead of Saturday's clash with FC Schalke 04.
Impact Upamecano is inching closer to a return after participating in team training this week. If all goes well, he could be an option for Saturday's match against Schalke. Prior to his injury, the defender has totaled 14 clearances and 12 tackles six won) in the last nine games to bring his average clearances a contest to two.
