Suffers serious injury Zappacosta has sustained high-grade rectus femoris strain of the right thigh with some tendon damage in the first training session of the pre-season, Atalanta announced.

Impact Zappacosta is tentatively expected to miss up to two months, but that will be clearer later on. Atalanta wish he will return at some point in September, but he will surely miss the first few matches and will need to ramp up before playing since he will sit out the entire preparation. Joakim Maehle can take care of the left flank in the meantime, but Atalanta will most likely add another option this summer.
