Out with undisclosed issue Machis was unavailable for Sunday's loss to Real Madrid and the reasons remain unclear, according to Rafael Lamelas of IDEAL.
Impact Machis has started in six of his eight appearances this season but has missed another five for a growing list of reasons. Whatever the truth is amidst any speculation on his status, he hasn't participated in training since returning from the November international window and that will keep him from playing. In his absence, look to Ruben Rochina as the primary creative outlet from this team heading into Friday's trip to Athletic Club.

On bench Monday Machis (undisclosed) is on the bench for Monday's match against Celta Vigo.
Impact Machis was forced off in the first half last week, but it looks like it wasn't serious and he's at least on the bench Monday. Assuming he's close to full health, he could make an appearance against Celta Vigo and then return to the starting XI Sunday against Sevilla.

Impact It is unclear whether Machis will be forced to miss additional game time due to his injury. Antonio Puertas or Ruben Rochina could fill in on the left wing next week against Celta Vigo if necessary.
SEPTEMBER 23, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Creates two chances in draw Machis created two chances from two crosses (one accurate) during Monday's 1-1 draw with Barcelona.
Impact Machis tried to be an outlet in possession but he was never likely to get much going in a mostly lopsided match. He'll next face a solid Real Sociedad side, and Machis has yet to log any properly valuable performances just yet.

Impact Machis returned to the lineup after transfer rumors to Club America in Mexico fell through but he didn't have much to offer. With Ruben Rochina taking his place and setting up the goal, Machis now has competition to contend with as well, so putting on a good show in the next match against Barcelona will be important to improving his form.
SEPTEMBER 14, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Starting against Betis Machis (hamstring) is in the starting XI for Monday's match against Betis.
Impact Machis is back in the starting XI for Monday's match after missing the game before the break because of a hamstring injury. He hasn't started since the opener when he went 79 minutes, meaning a full 90 may not be likely against Betis.

Impact Machis had more work to do defensively than in the attack as the hosts dominated possession throughout the contest. This shouldn't always be the case for Machis, though it's worth noting his opponent each week if looking for specific production out of him. Up next is a visit from Valencia.

Impact Machis came off the bench in each of the final two games of the season after featuring regularly in league, UEL and Copa del Rey matches. His final tally came out to five goals and five assists in La Liga, plus one more of each from the Europa League. By offering a steady 5.52 crosses per 90 all season as well, Machis offers consistent production even if his team's system isn't conducive to huge goal tallies from any attacker.
