Starting at Portland Durkin (undisclosed) is in the starting XI for Saturday's match against Portland Timbers.

Impact Durkin is available for an MLS game for the first time since July 18, heading straight into the initial squad Saturday. He'll likely operate in defensive midfield alongside Eduard Lowen, a position from which he has averaged 27.8 accurate passes, 4.9 balls recovered and 2.4 tackles per game this season.

Trains on side Durkin was training on the side Tuesday of Saturday's trip to Portland, per Tom Timmermann of the St Louis Post Dispatched.

Impact Durkin picked up an injury against Club America during the Leagues Cup, however it does not believe that the injury is anything serious and could return to action Saturday. If fit, he will start in the defensive midfield alongside Eduard Lowen, where he had started the last 10 MLS games in s row.

Impact Durkin produced his second assist of the season, tying his total from 2023 in just 19 matches. Still his ceiling remains limited by his position in holding midfield.

Impact Durkin had a nice performance in the middle of the park here but not everything was good news for those who picked him for fantasy purposes as a reckless challenge he made in the 81st resulted in another caution that will made him miss next Saturday's visit to Dallas due to yellow card accumulation. Njabulo Blom appears as the most probable replacement for the holding midfielder.

Impact Durkin controlled a ball near the box and found the back of the net with an impressive strike in the 15th minute of play Saturday. Despite the goal, the midfielder was mainly involved in defensive duties and committed five fouls during the match. He should continue to play a holding midfield role while retaining some offensive upside after scoring and assisting once over his five most recent appearances.

Impact Durkin was the midfield engine room for St. Louis Saturday. He was their most active playmaker and managed to create the assist for his team's third goal, prosecuted by Joao Klauss. His contribution was not just to the scoreline, he was also active helping out his defense through two clearances and a tackle. This was the regular starter's first assist and he is yet to score a goal.
