Leonardo Barroso - Not training Thursday
Barroso was absent from regular work in Thursday's practice due to an undisclosed issue, Joe Chatz of On Tap Sports reports.
Impact
Barroso left last weekend's game versus Atlanta in the 68th minute after potentially suffering an injury. That was the right-back's seventh consecutive league start, so him being unavailable would be a significant blow to the squad. While his status is uncertain, his place could be taken by either Jonathan Dean or Dylan Borso in the next contests if the problem is serious.

Hugo Cuypers - Training but still questionable
Cuypers (head) remains a late call for the upcoming MLS trip to Cincinnati after returning to practice during the week, Joe Chatz of On Tap Sports reports.
Impact
Cuypers could be back in action soon after being sidelined for two matches due to his head injury. However, it remains to be seen if he'll be ready to make the starting lineup right away. As soon as he's completely fit, the striker will be a solid offensive asset, having made the score sheet in each of his four games played this season. His return would move Robin Los back to a midfield role.

Jonathan Bamba - Out due to personal reasons
Bamba is not with the team ahead of Saturday's visit to Cincinnati while he attends to a personal matter in France, Joe Chatz of On Tap Sports reports.
Impact
Bamba has been Chicago's main left winger this year, scoring two goals and a team-high two assists during the MLS campaign. Thus, his absence will limit the attacking potential of a squad that could struggle to find a similar option, perhaps deploying either Philip Zinckernagel or Maren Haile-Selassie on the left flank and giving an opportunity to the Open Cup standout Jason Shokalook up front. As for Bamba, there's still uncertainty about when he'll be available again.

Chris Mueller - Working on grass
Mueller (not injury related) has been working in the gym and has yet to return to the grass yet, reports Joe Chatz of On Tap Sports Net.
Impact
Mueller remains out due to a non injury as he begins to work in the gym. He's already missed the last month, as a return in April seems unlikely, but not out of the question if he is able to return to training.

ROTOWIRE
Anton Saletros - Whips in four crosses
Saletros generated four crosses (three accurate) and two corners in Saturday's 1-0 victory over Atlanta United.
Impact
Saletros would start his seventh straight game to open the season Saturday, playing the full 90 as he has yet to miss a minute of play this season. He would record three chances created and four crosses in the attack, an okay match productivity-wise. However, he has yet to record a goal contribution.

ROTOWIRE
Jack Elliott - Four shots from defense
Elliott had four shots (zero on goal) in Saturday's 1-0 victory against Atlanta United.
Impact
Elliot lined up in the defense but still earned some offensive work Saturday, as the defender would record four shots, although none were on target. He would also add some work in the defense, notching 12 clearances on his way to a clean sheet. He has now been a part of three clean sheets in five appearances.

ROTOWIRE
Jonathan Bamba - Another goal contribution
Bamba assisted once to go with four shots (two on goal), two crosses (zero accurate) and two chances created in Saturday's 1-0 win versus Atlanta United.
Impact
Bamba would come up with an assist Sunday, finding Maren Haile-Selassie in the 13th minute for the lone goal of the match. This gives Bamba his third straight game with a goal contribution, earning one goal and two assists during that span. He continues a decent start to the season, already with four goal contributions in six appearances.

ROTOWIRE
Maren Haile-Selassie - Scores game winner
Haile-Selassie scored one goal to go with two shots (one on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and one corner in Saturday's 1-0 victory versus Atlanta United.
Impact
Haile-Selassie was the lone goal scorer in Saturday's win, scoring early in the 13th minute and holding the lead the rest of the match. This does mark his first goal of the season, coming after eight shots. He hopes this leaves him in a starting role moving forward, with five starts in seven appearances.

ROTOWIRE
Chris Brady - Clean sheet against Atlanta
Brady made five saves and secured a clean sheet in Saturday's 1-0 victory against Atlanta United.
Impact
Brady saw a great night in net as he stopped all five of Atlanta's shots, earning a clean sheet in the process. This is a second straight outing with a clean sheet, up to four in seven appearances this season. He will now face Cincinnati in their next contest, a much tougher match to keep a clean slate in.

ROTOWIRE
Joel Waterman - On bench after injury recovery
Waterman (undisclosed) is on the bench in Saturday's game against Atlanta.
Impact
Waterman was a late scratch in the previous match, but he returned to training during the week and regained enough health to make the squad versus Atlanta. The defender has started in two of his five outings in the current campaign, so he may remain in a rotation with Jack Elliott and Mbekezeli Mbokazi for the rest of the season.

Impact
Zinckernagel picked a good time to open his 2026 scoring account, finding the net in the opening minute of the match to lift Chicago to a big victory at home. If leading scorer Hugo Cuypers remains sidelined, the Fire will continue to look to Zinckernagel to produce on the attacking end in a favorable home matchup with Atlanta United on Saturday.

Bamba delivered an inch-perfect ball to the back post to set up the game's only goal in the first minute. The assist was Bamba's first of the season, and he now has a goal contribution in back-to-back appearances. Joel Waterman - Late scratch Saturday
Waterman was removed from the starting lineup for Saturday's match against Nashville, according to the team.
Impact
Waterman has apparently picked up a last-minute discomfort in warmups prior to the weekend's clash. Thus, his place will be taken by Jack Elliott, who is making his return from a short absence. The Canadian will be questionable for subsequent fixtures with the extent of his problem yet to be revealed.

Jack Elliott - On bench Saturday
Elliott (not injury related) is on the bench for Saturday's game versus Nashville.
Impact
Elliott avoided an absence despite being questionable for unknown reasons prior to this match. However, the defender will be available only as a substitute while both Mbekezeli Mbokazi and Joel Waterman start at center-back. Elliott also missed the previous contest due to illness but made three successive starts before that.

Philip Zinckernagel - Starting against Nashville
Zinckernagel (head) is in the starting XI for Saturday's match against Nashville.
Impact
Zinckernagel won't miss any game with the problem that forced him to leave the pitch early during the previous clash with Philadelphia. He's a regular contributor of attacking stats and one of the squad's top two set-piece takers alongside Anton Saletros. Additionally, he could assume an even bigger offensive responsibility in the absence of striker Hugo Cuypers (head).

Elliott is doubtful ahead of the weekend's meeting with Nashville to due non-injury reasons.
