Impact Vela was way more active than on the previous match, being involved in most of his side's dangerous plays. The attacker had a great chance to score from the penalty spot in the 79th minute but his shot hit the woodwork. Shortly afterwards, though, LAFC's captain made up for the mistake with an assist for Denis Bouanga to score the goal that sealed the 2-1 win. This was the second goal set up in four appearances by Vela, who will hope to take another step towards his best level this season after a bounceback campaign in 2022.
