Joins Colorado
Acosta has signed a two-year contract with the Rapids with the option to extend for an additional year, the club announced Wednesday.
Impact
Acosta made 23 MLS appearances (16 starts) for FC Dallas last season, but the 28-year-old has now joined up with the reigning Western Conference regular season winners for the next few seasons. He joins a crowded midfield in Colorado, but one that just lost Kellyn Acosta to LAFC, so there may be opening for him to break into the XI.

Sends in five crosses in draw
Acosta had two shots on goal, created one chance, sent in five crosses (one accurate), won one tackle and was shown a yellow card during Saturday's 2-2 draw against Houston.
Impact
Acosta made his second consecutive start and was once again a threat on the offensive end, not only because of his role on set pieces but also finishing plays himself. When he's at his best, his fantasy outputs are much different from the ones that most holding midfielders have due to great offensive numbers even without appearing on the scoresheet. Up next for Acosta is Aug. 29 visit to Austin.

Performs lights out in loss
Acosta produced three shots (none on target), sent six crosses (two accurate), took four corners, made three tackles (one won) and received one yellow card during the 1-0 loss to S...
Impact
Acosta was brilliant in the loss and he was the most successful player in terms of offense for FC Dallas. The midfielder continued to play in a deeper role, but yet created ample opportunities. His active role on set-pieces continues to be an added bonus as well. In his four games since returning from the Gold Cup he is averaging, 1.75 shots, 0.75 created chances, 3.0 crosses, 2.25 corners and 1.0 tackles per 90 minutes in all competitions. Those are some quality numbers when you include the fact that he only has a single start in that period.
