Salih Ozcan - Suffers LCL injury with Turkey Ozcan suffered an LCL injury to his knee while on international duty with Turkey and will be out for the time being to recover, the club announced.
Impact Ozcan suffered an LCL injury to his knee during international duty with Turkey and this will make him miss the Club World Cup and likely several months depending on how his injury evolves. Ozcan hasn't been more than a bench option under Niko Kovac, so his absence will not impact the starting XI.

Emre Can - Dealing with groin injury Can (groin) is dealing with an injury and has not been included in the squad that will participate in the Club World Cup, the club announced.
Impact Can is dealing with adductor problems and is unavailable for the time being. Ramy Bensebaini is expected to continue getting an increased role in the backline while Can remains sidelined.

Borussia Dortmund signs Jobe Bellingham, Real Madrid star Jude's younger brother

Borussia Dortmund has signed Jobe Bellingham, the younger brother of Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham
4 DAYS AGO
Jobe Bellingham - Transfers to Dortmund Bellingham has completed a transfer to Dortmund from Sunderland, according to his former club.
Impact Bellingham is going to follow in similar footsteps as his brother, as he departed England for Germany and has joined Dortmund on a permanent deal. This ends his two-year stay with Sunderland, featuring in 90 games while registering 11 goals and four assists, also adding a Championship Young Player of the Season and making the Team of the season in the 2024/25 season. He hopes to take on a similar role to his brother when he joins Dortmund and see plenty of time immediately. However, he may be eased into action a bit more with his new club, as this will be his first chance within a top-five European League.

Maximilian Beier - Trains partially with team Beier (ankle) has completed parts of team training on Thrusday, the club posted.
Impact Beier has been dealing with an ankle injury that has sidelined him since late April, but he is progressing well after partially resuming team training on Thursday. He is aiming to be fit to feature in the match squad that will face Brazilian side Fluminense in the first group stage game of the Club World Cup on June 17.
JUNE 5 • ROTOWIRE
Soumaila Coulibaly - Mixed season in Brest Coulibaly appeared in 16 matches across all competitions for Brest during the 2024-25 season, providing one assist.
Impact Coulibaly's integration into the Brest team has been fast since he earned a regular starting role early in the season while being on loan from Borussia Dortmund. He has been one, if not the best, defender in the backline when available and playing, but the defender missed more than half of the season due to injuries, making his season a bit disappointing. He will head back for the Black and Yellows after his loan spell and will hope to come back fit for the preseason.
JUNE 3 • ROTOWIRE
Gregor Kobel - Another season as regular starter Kobel started in all 32 of his appearances while notching 47 goals allowed and 85 saves to earn seven clean sheets this season.
Impact Kobel was Dortmund's regular starter in net for a fourth straight season this campaign, with the goalie only missing two league starts all season. He would see a similar season to his last, but did regress a bit, matching his save and clean sheet tally with 85 and seven, respectively. However, he would allow 13 more goals than last campaign despite appearing in five more games. This could be a result of the faulty start of the campaign they faced, hoping he can recover and return to the double-digit goal contributions he saw during the 2022/23 season.
MAY 29 • ROTOWIRE
Nico Schlotterbeck - Season ends injured Schlotterbeck started in all 23 of his appearances this season while bagging four assists on 18 chances created to go along with 22 interceptions, 38 tackles and 78 clearances.
Impact Schlotterbeck saw his campaign come to a screeching halt in April, with the everyday starter having his season ended by a meniscus tear. However, this doesn't take away from the success he still had, holding a regular starter role while showing solid performances day in and day out. He would even add four goal contributions to top his three from last campaign, although it is still far off of the nine he saw in his debut season with the club. He is set to recover ahead of the new campaign and should be ready for the beginning of the season, likely to pick up right where he left off.
MAY 29 • ROTOWIRE
Yan Couto - Mainly serves as backup Couto registered eight starts in 21 appearances while registering 10 interceptions, 24 tackles, 26 clearances and 53 crosses this season.
Impact Couto was never thought to have been set for a major role this season, and that came to fruition, mainly serving in a backup role after seeing much more time with Girona last campaign. He would see most of his time in a rotational role and was used more as a depth option, filling in when the club was down a few defenders. His future remains undecided, as the club still holds the option to sign the full-back permanently, but he could return to Manchester City following his loan, hoping he can soon shape out a role in a team instead of bouncing around Europe in search of a landing spot.
MAY 29 • ROTOWIRE
Niklas Sule - Role drops off Sule started in 12 of his 15 appearances while notching four interceptions, 14 tackles and 45 clearances this season.
Impact Sule was back in Germany, serving yet another season among the best teams in the league with Dortmund, his third season with the club since his transfer from Bayern. He would still see minutes this season, but in a greatly reduced number, not seeing an everyday starting role this season until Nico Shlotterbeck went down injured to end the season. He did battle some injuries, but regardless of that, it appears his top minutes are behind him, with the defender appearing to be falling off to more of a rotational role.
MAY 29 • ROTOWIRE
Waldemar Anton - Solid first season with Dortmund Anton started in 22 of his 26 appearances while registering two goals and two assists to go along with 30 interceptions, 34 tackles and 110 clearances.
Impact Anton saw a decent first spell with Dortmund after joining from Stuttgart this offseason, seeing a regular starting role and maintaining that role through the season. He would only truly miss time when injured, proving to be a strong duo alongside Nico Schlotterbeck in the middle of the defense. He will hope to see more than his five clean sheets next campaign, but will be happy to have reached a new career-high for goal contributions in a season with four.
MAY 28 • ROTOWIRE
Ramy Bensebaini - Sees multiple roles in defense Bensebaini started in 23 of his 31 appearances this season while recording one goal and six assists to go along with 33 interceptions, 51 tackles and 79 clearances.
Impact Bensebaini started the season in more of a rotational role but was quickly a regular starter by mid-October, seeing most of his time at left-back. However, by the end of the season, he was also serving in the center of the defense and still maintaining regular time. He did see a bit of drop in production when he moved to the center, but likely won't see much more time in that role if the club can remain fit next season. That said, he will have to do his best to still maintain a spot at left-back, as with the young Daniel Svensson bidding for time, Bensebaini could drop to more of a rotational role depending on Svensson's development.
MAY 28 • ROTOWIRE
Julian Ryerson - Regular on the flank Ryerson started in 27 of his 29 appearances while registering two goals and three assists to go along with 22 interceptions, 25 clearances, 46 tackles and 110 crosses.
Impact Ryerson broke into a starting role with Dortmund last season but was hindered by a few injuries, showing his true value after appearing in 29 league matches this season. He would mainly see his work in the defense, but would show his two-way value with his five-goal contributions, matching last season's total. He is on contract with the club until 2028 and seems likely to maintain this starting role for the next few years to come.
MAY 28 • ROTOWIRE
Salih Ozcan - Rotational role during campaign Ozcan started in six of his 22 appearances while registering seven shots, 10 chances created and 11 crosses.
Impact Ozcan saw a season split between Wolfsburg and Dortmund after a loan spell for the first half of the campaign, then returning to his parent club in January. He would start in three of his 11 appearances between both clubs for a total of 22 appearances, although he didn't earn a goal contribution with either club. He seems to be set for a rotational role once again next campaign, still on contract for another season.
MAY 28 • ROTOWIRE
Youssoufa Moukoko - Disappointing loan in Nice Moukoko made 19 appearances across all competitions for Nice during the 2024-25 season, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
Impact Moukoko's arrival added youthful energy and potential to Nice's attacking options but ultimately ended as a very disappointing season since he didn't feature a single minute after early February for the Aiglons. Although Moukoko definitely has potential, his loan spell in Nice wasn't successful and his future is very blurry since he will return to his parent club Dortmund, that reportedly don't count on him for the future.
MAY 28 • ROTOWIRE
Carney Chukwuemeka - Mainly bench option on loan Chukwuemeka recorded one goal on eight shots in 10 appearances (one start) while on loan with Dortmund this season.
Impact Chukwuemeka didn't see any first-team time this season until he departed Chelsea on loan for Dortmund, capturing a few appearances with the German club. He was even able to score a goal while managing a few European appearances in UCL play as well. The question now is whether the club will exercise a buy option, as a return to Chelsea could see him with minimal minutes again, while he seemingly was able to grow a role with Dortmund.
MAY 27 • ROTOWIRE
Marcel Sabitzer - Struggles during 2024/25 campaign Sabitzer saw one goal on 21 shots in 26 appearances (18 starts) this season.
Impact Sabitzer had a rough season by his standards, seeing his lowest tally of goal contributions in a season with only one, waiting until the season finale to finally score a goal. He still saw the start in the middle of the pack for the majority of the season, just not seeing much work in the attack at all, despite consistently seeing action moving forward in years past. He should still see regular time next campaign, but he will hope he can see a bit more production, possibly having been fatigued from the busy summer with Austria at Euro 2024.
MAY 27 • ROTOWIRE
Felix Nmecha - Works into starting role when fit Nmecha recorded four shots on 18 shots and one assist on 14 chances created in 26 appearances (19 starts).
Impact Nmecha saw a decent season and was able to earn a starting role for most of the campaign, earning a regular starting role around mid-October. However, he did see his season heavily hindered by an injury, missing two months of the season, which resulted in a bit more od a subdued campaign. This is still good news moving into next season, as he continues to earn more time and could see a full-time starting spot next campaign.
MAY 27 • ROTOWIRE
Emre Can - Majority of season spent in defense Can registered three goals on nine shots to go along with nine crosses, 20 interceptions, 50 tackles and 86 clearances in 31 appearances (23 starts) this season.
Impact Can saw a major change of roles in he 2024/25 campaign, with the midfielder no longer in the engine room and concluding the season primarily serving as center-back. This was an early change for the German, moving to the defense in November, which heavily hurt his offensive production, as he only saw three goal contributions. This will be something to watch heading into the new season, as a continued role in the defense will hurt his production, but could add a new central defender to the mix with a bit more attacking prowess as a former midfielder.
