Impact Hlongwane was busy in a rare start against Salt Lake. The forward lined up on the right wing in just his seventh start of the campaign and shot three times while adding three crosses. While Hlongwane has struggled for end product with just three assists in 18 appearances, he has been creative with 13 chances created and 24 shots. Hlongwane should have a chance in the starting XI once more against Vancouver on Friday.

Impact Hlongwane entered the match in the 37th minute and set up Emanuel Reynoso for Minnesota's third goal in the 43rd. The assist was the third of the season for the forward while he led the team in both chances created and interceptions in the win.

Assists twice as substitute Hlongwane assisted two goals from two chances created, made one tackle (won) and one interception in Saturday's 3-0 win over Chicago.

Impact Hlongwane subbe on in the second half and assisted Emanuel Reynoso in the 72nd minute and Robin Lod in the 89th to help them earn the home win. Those were his first two assists in the season. The forward will now look for more playing time when they visit LA FC on Sunday.

Joins Minnesota Hlongwane has signed a three-year contract with Minnesota United with the option to extend for an additional year, the club announced Wednesday.

Impact Hlongwane joins Minnesota from Maritzburg United in South Africa, where he had two goals and an assist in 15 appearances this season. The 21-year-old is the Loons' first U22 initiative signing, but he will likely be used more as a backup option along the forward line as he develops.
