Should be in squad Sunday Martial (hip) is expected to be in the squad for Sunday's match against Newcastle.
Impact Martial has been working over the break and it sounds like he'll be an option again. He's been out since January with the hip issue, though given his constant injuries, he won't be rushed back into the squad. It's more likely he'll be used off the bench for the next couple matches before being thrown in the starting XI.
MARCH 31, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Out for cup match Martial (hip) is not in Man United's match day squad for Sunday's FA Cup clash against Fulham.
Impact Martial is still looking for his first appearance in any competition since early February as he continues his recovery from a hip injury. His next opportunity for United will be after the upcoming international break.
MARCH 19, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Doubt for FA Cup clash Martial (hip) is unlikely to be involved in Sunday's FA Cup quarterfinal tie with Fulham, Man United manager Erik ten Hag announced Friday.
Impact Ten Hag said he thinks Martial "will not be available" for the cup match at the weekend as he continues recovering from a hip injury. His last appearance in any competition came in a League Cup semifinal back on Feb. 1.
MARCH 17, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Not in squad for Thursday Martial (hip) will not be available for selection for Thursday's Europa League match against Real Betis.
Impact Martial's return continues to be delayed as he was left off the team sheet Thursday. He has returned to training and will hope to make an appearance Sunday before the international break.
MARCH 15, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Not in squad to face Southampton Martial is not in the match day squad to face Southampton on Sunday.
Impact Martial remains out as he continues to recover from a hip injury. The forward was in contention to feature in the squad, so he could return as soon as Thursday's Europa League second leg against Real Betis.
MARCH 12, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
In contention Sunday Martial (hip) has resumed training and could rejoin the squad against Southampton on Sunday. Manager Erik ten Hag told reporters, "But he is on his way back, he is back in training...
Impact Martial's hip problem has kept him out of the squad for the last 10 contests dating back to Jan. 14 versus Manchester City. Prior to getting hurt, the forward started five straight in which he registered one goal on 10 shots (four on target), two crosses (zero accurate) and two clearances. Given his long stint on the shelf, Martial may have to make an appearance or two off the bench before truly being in contention for the starting XI.
MARCH 10, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Not available for Europa League Martial (hip) will not feature in Thursday's Europa League clash against Real Betis, confirmed head coach Erik ten Hag.
Impact Martial is edging closer to a return, but is not ready to come back for the Europa League quarterfinals Thursday. According to Ten Hag, "Anthony Martial is back on the pitch, so we will see" which is a good sign for him that will come back to the team soon. He cannot escape injuries this season, missing already 23 games thus far with back, leg and hip issues. Once he returns, the forward will go back to the starting XI with Wout Weghorst struggling to score goals in his absence.
MARCH 8, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Remains without timeline Martial (hip) will remain absent for Wednesday's FA Cup match, according to manager Erik ten Hag.
Impact It's another bland update from ten Hag despite Martial training individually a week ago. Martial could either be training fully this week and an option for the weekend, or still be out another two weeks. No matter, he's not close to returning to the starting XI, as this is already a month-plus absence.
FEBRUARY 28, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Working individually Martial (hip) is training individually and could return in the next week, according to manager Erik ten Hag. "He's back on the pitch but not in the team training, so we'll wait for...
Impact Martial seems to have a new injury every month, so he won't be brought back too quickly. He's been out for more than a month with this one, since Jan. 14, and he probably won't be ready to start until their next league match which comes March 5 against Liverpool.
FEBRUARY 22, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Ruled out again Sunday Martial (hip) will be unavailable again versus Foxes on Sunday. Manager Erik ten Hag told reporters, "I think they are on the way back. They are coming back in the training squad,...
Impact Martial has already been out of action for the last six matches but looks set to return to training soon. Given the quick turnaround, it seems unlikely Martial will be fit in time to face Barcelona on Thursday, though he hasn't officially been ruled out and maybe could be a bench option. Once up to full fitness, Martial should be in contention to reclaim a place in the starting XI.
FEBRUARY 17, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Set to miss two more matches Martial (hip) is expected to be sidelined against Leeds United on Sunday as well as Thursday's UCL clash with Barcelona. Manager Erik ten Hag told reporters, "I don't expect [them...
Impact With two more matches on the shelf, Martial will have been out of action for six consecutive clashes due to his hip problem. During Martial's absence, January addition Wout Weghorst has stepped into the starting XI and could be in contention to maintain his place on the pitch even once Martial is cleared to return.
FEBRUARY 10, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Will remain out midweek Martial (hip) will miss Wednesday's match against Leeds United, according to manager Erik ten Hag. "Every time, it is in a different area. At the moment, it is his hip."
Impact Martial suffered a setback in a recent match and it looks to be something that'll keep him out multiple matches. He can't seem to escape the injury bug and he'll now miss four-straight league matches despite returning in recent Cup contests. His absence means more minutes for Wout Weghorst up front.
FEBRUARY 7, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Out with knock Martial is not in the match day squad to face Crystal Palace due to an undisclosed injury.
Impact Martial misses out after suffering a "setback" against Nottingham Forest according to manager Erik Ten Hag. The forward will hope to return in time for next week's match against Leeds having scored three times and provided two assists in his nine league appearances.

Impact Prior to missing Wednesday's clash with Crystal Palace, Martial recorded one goal on 10 shots (four on target), two crosses (zero accurate) and two chances created in his previous five matches. If he can get back to 100 percent, Martial should be in contention for regular starts and figures to offer decent offensive upside.

Impact It sounds like a stretch for Martial to start Wednesday, as he probably shouldn't have been in the XI for the Manchester derby. That being the case, Antony or Alejandro Garnacho could be called upon again, which would allow Marcus Rashford to move into the central role unless ten Hag uses the same formation as last time with Fred in the XI. While Wout Weghorst is now in the team, his role seems to be limited, as in when United need a goal late and they want someone to head the ball in off a cross.
JANUARY 17, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Ineffective in derby Martial took a shot before subbing out at halftime of Saturday's 2-1 victory against Manchester City.
Impact Martial wasn't having a good game on Saturday and seemed to have more offsides calls than involvements before he was hooked at halftime against City. With loan signing Wout Weghorst set to join the team soon, It's possible Martial gets eased out of the XI in the near future.
JANUARY 15, 2023 • ROTOWIRE

Impact Martial was said to be in doubt, but he has recovered fully and will start over Antony and Alejandro Garnacho in this one. He has scored once and added six shots (two on target), one chance created, and one inaccurate cross in the last three games.
JANUARY 14, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Late test for derby Martial (leg) is considered a late-fitness test for Saturday's match against Manchester City, according to manager Erik ten Hag. "He trained this morning [Friday] so we have to wai...
Impact Martial trained Friday, which is at least a good sign. The problem is that he's been continuously injured this season and playing through an issue probably isn't the best idea. If he can't go Saturday, ten Hag may have to turn to one of the younger players, possibly Alejandro Garnacho, who has seen a bit of time in recent matches.
