Option to play Sunday Knauff (abdomen) is an option for Sunday's match against Mainz, according to manager Albert Riera. "Except for Rasmus and Kaua, everyone is ready for the matchday squad, so I will...
Impact Knauff is back fit and with his team after training with a ball earlier in the week, putting the injury behind him. He ends a four-game absence and will now return to decent time, notching 10 starts in 20 appearances this season to go along with five goal contributions. He will likely need to build up some time as he looks to start again soon, although he holds more of a rotational role either way.

Trains with ball Knauff (abdomen) was spotted training with the ball Thursday, according to the club.
Impact Knauff got back into team training and was seen working with the ball Thursday, a strong sign he is closing in on a return to the matchday squad. This is a big boost for the Eagles after he spent the last month sidelined with an abdominal injury, and he is now trending toward being available again in the coming fixtures to step back into the regular attacking role he held before the setback.
MARCH 19 • ROTOWIRE
Close to training again Knauff (abdomen) is expected to train next week, according to manager Albert Riera. "Ansgar could return to training next week."
Impact Knauff has been out for just under a month after some surgery, but is now seeing a huge step in rehab, with the attacker set to join training next week. This could lead him to be an option following the international break, adding some more depth, although it will depend on his training.
MARCH 13 • ROTOWIRE
Receives abdominal surgery Knauff is out for the time being due to abdominal surgery, according to his club.
Impact Knauff is going to be sidelined for a solid one to two months as he recovers from injury, with the forward set for abdominal injury. This is a major blow for the club as he has seen decent time with his four goals this campaign, losing a rotational option in the attack. With injuries all over the attacking department, Ayoube Amaimouni-Echghouyab could be forced into a starting role, although Jonathan Burkardt (calf) and Arnaud Kalimuendo (shoulder) should start once fit.
FEBRUARY 17 • ROTOWIRE
Scores as substitute Knauff scored one goal to go with two shots (two on goal) in Saturday's 3-0 victory against Monchengladbach.
Impact Knauff started on the bench and came on in the 70th minute of Saturday's match against Monchengladbach, scoring with a composed lob. The forward has primarily operated in a reserve role of late, though he has started 10 of his 20 Bundesliga appearances this season, recording four goals and one assist during that span. The injury to Arnaud Kalimuendo could allow him to see increased playing time in the coming matches.
FEBRUARY 15 • ROTOWIRE
Clears illness Knauff (illness) was spotted back in full team training on Tuesday, the club posted.
Impact Knauff missed the last match against Union Berlin due to illness but he was back in full team training this week and looked sharp, putting himself firmly back in the mix moving forward. The attacking midfielder was a regular starter under the previous coach and has the tools to maintain a meaningful role under new boss Albert Riera. That said, he will likely have to battle veteran Mario Gotze for the spot in the starting XI.

Misses game due to illness Knauff missed Friday's 1-1 draw against Union Berlin due to illness, the club announced.
Impact Knauff was battling an illness in the days leading up to Friday and ultimately sat out the clash against Union Berlin because of it. The attacking midfielder has been a regular in the starting lineup for the Eagles this season but his role is yet to be determined under new coach Albert Riera. In his absence against Union Berlin, Mario Gotze stepped back into the starting XI for Frankfurt.
FEBRUARY 7 • ROTOWIRE
Shut down versus Spurs Knauff recorded no stats in Wednesday's 2-0 loss versus Tottenham Hotspur.
Impact Knauff was completely shut out of Wednesday's final UCL group stage match, recording zero shots, chances created or crosses in the loss. It was a very disappointing UCL campaign for Frankfurt, though Knauff was one of the lone bright spots. He finished the group stage with two goals and one assist across eight appearances (seven starts). He will now put all of his focus into the Bundesliga as the club is currently on the outside looking in for a spot in Europe next season.
JANUARY 29 • ROTOWIRE
Nets final goal of match Knauff scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) and one cross (zero accurate) in Friday's 3-3 draw versus Werder Bremen.
Impact Knauff would save Frankfurt from dropping three points Friday and would instead earn one, finding the back of the net in the 94th minute. This comes despite appearing off the bench, his first time not starting in five games. He is up to three goals this season, with his last coming Sept. 27.
JANUARY 18 • ROTOWIRE
Scores lone goal in loss Knauff scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) and one chance created in Tuesday's 2-1 loss versus Barcelona. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 27th minute.
Impact After a slow start to the season, with just three starts in the first nine games, Knauff has become a key part of the starting XI, starting eight of the last nine matches he was available for. He scored his second Champions League goal from his only shot and created one chance before being subbed in the 68th minute.

Starting again Knauff (illness) is in the starting XI for Tuesday's clash with Barcelona.
Impact Knauff recovered from an illness and is back available for Tuesday's clash. The attacker is straight back in the starting XI, leading the line once more due to injuries elsewhere. Knauff will likely struggle for any sort of consistent service on the road against Barcelona.
DECEMBER 9, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Missing with illness Knauff is out for Saturday's match against Leipzig due to an illness, according to his club.
Impact Knauff is not with his team Saturday as they take the field, with the attacker out after waking up with an illness. He has started in their past four games, so this is a rough loss for the club as they await his short return, with Michy Batshuayi starting at forward in his spot Saturday.
DECEMBER 6, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Assists with three chances Knauff assisted once to go with two crosses (two accurate) and three chances created in Saturday's 4-3 victory over 1. FC Koln.
Impact Knauff created three chances and earned one assist during a nail-biting win over Koln on Saturday. It was an all-action affair as both teams traded goals throughout the match. In the end it was Frankfurt that came out on top and Knauffs creativity played a big part in that. Knauff has been a consistent rotational option in the team and should see plenty of minutes during the busiest part of the schedule.

Assists Tuesday Knauff assisted once to go with one shot (zero on goal), two crosses (zero accurate) and three chances created in Tuesday's 5-1 defeat versus Atletico Madrid.
Impact Knauff put his name on the scoresheet during Tuesday's clash, setting up Jonathan Burkardt for the only goal Frankfurt scored. Knauff has taken on a surprisingly large role in recent weeks, and he's done well with it. When everyone is healthy he will rotate with Jean-Matteo Bahoya, but it seems for now he's perhaps even taken over as the top choice on the wing.

Impact Knauff was back in the starting XI for Saturday's 10-goal thriller, and found the back of the net with a nice finish. The winger has been in and out of the starting XI, with Jean Bahoya preferred for a lot of the season. When Knauff starts he has plenty of upside going forward, especially with how good the Frankfurt attack as a whole has been. Bahoya will likely return to the starting XI with some tough matches coming up in all competitions.

Nets late Knauff scored one goal to go with four shots (two on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and two chances created in Thursday's 5-1 victory against Galatasaray.
Impact Knauff got on the scoresheet late during Thursday's win, finding the back of the net after an Elye Wahi tackle knocked the ball loose. It was a bit of a lucky goal from the winger, but he won't be complaining about it. Knauff has rotated in and out of the starting XI with Jean Bahoya, and is likely to continue to rotate as Frankfurt compete in all competitions.
SEPTEMBER 18, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Adds goal late Knauff scored one goal to go with three shots (two on goal) in Saturday's 4-1 victory over Werder Bremen.
Impact Knauff came off the bench Saturday and made the most of his chance, finding the back of the net with a nice finish. Knauff has struggled with inconsistency during his time at Frankfurt, and isn't likely to be an every-day starter. Still, when he does get on the pitch he should have a big part in one of the strongest attacking units in the Bundesliga.
AUGUST 25, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Nets in finale Knauff scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) in Saturday's 3-1 victory against SC Freiburg. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 72nd minute.
Impact Knauff scored during Saturday's win over Freiburg, his fourth goal of the campaign. 2024/25 was an interesting year for the winger, he scored four times and added a career-high five assists, though his minutes fell. As Frankfurt continue to experiment with different formations it's hard to guarantee a long-term role for Knauff, at least in the starting XI.
MAY 19, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Nets brace Knauff scored two goals to go with three shots (three on goal) and one cross (zero accurate) in Saturday's 4-0 victory over RB Leipzig.
Impact Knauff scored a massive brace during Saturday's clash that quickly turned into a rout. The winger has been inefficient in a variety of roles, but he's shown a bit more promise in the back half of the season. If he can keep this up Knauff could earn a larger role heading into the 2025/26 campaign.
APRIL 28, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Returns off bench Knauff came off the bench during Thursday's defeat to Tottenham.
Impact Knauff returned to the bench and played 15 minutes off the bench during Thursday's Europa League defeat. The winger is back fit and should be back in contention for substantial minutes as Frankfurt look to close out a disappointing back half of the season.
APRIL 17, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Set for return Thursday Knauff (undisclosed) is an option for Thursday's match against Tottenham, according to manager Dino Toppmoller. "Ansgar will be in the squad."
Impact Knauff is back as an option for the club after missing the club's last three games, as the attacker has been announced as available for Thursday. He did start in his last match out and will hope to see that spot again, starting in 21 of his 35 appearances this season.
