Fernando Pacheco - Concedes once in loss Pacheco made one save and conceded one goal during Saturday's 1-0 loss against Mallorca.
Impact Pacheco didn't have much work to do during the first half, but things changes after halftime. The goalkeeper had already been saved by the post earlier in the second half and then, in the 80th minute, saw Fer Nino being quicker than the defenders to pick up a long pass and tip the ball over him to score the lone goal of the match. Pacheco is off to a rough start this season, with five goals conceded over two starts. He'll try to bounce back during Friday's visit to Valencia.
AUGUST 22, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Matt Miazga - Joins Deportivo Alaves on loan Miazga joined Deportivo Alaves on loan from Chelsea for the 2021/22 season.
Impact Miazga has played in countries home to nearly every possible language in western Europe and now gets his chance in Spain. As a new option behind Florian Lejeune and Victor Laguardia, Miazga should get a few chances to play though breaking into the starting lineup could be a tougher task.
AUGUST 20, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Ximo Navarro - Back in training Navarro overcame his thigh injury and joined Tuesday's training session.
Impact Navarro missed the season-opening loss to Real Madrid due to his injury but is now back on track to play by Saturday's visit from Mallorca. Should he be ready for that game, Martin would likely make way in the starting lineup for Navarro to start.
AUGUST 17, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Fernando Pacheco - Concedes four to Real Madrid Pacheco conceded four goals and made four saves during Saturday's 4-1 loss to Real Madrid.
Impact Pacheco kept it close in the first half but gave up all four goals after the interval and took the heavy hit in the scoreline. So long as he can do better against weaker opponents, this season won't go too poorly for Pacheco, who conceded 57 goals in 38 appearances last year.
AUGUST 16, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Ruben Duarte - Logs five crosses in loss Duarte provided five crosses (one accurate) and made two interceptions during Saturday's 4-1 loss to Real Madrid.
Impact Duarte is in line to be the top left-back again if he can stay healthy, and his performance was solid offensively even if the result ended in favor of the visitors. If Alaves can figure out how to slow their opponents, from scoring, Duarte is one of a few players who already appears to have a decent base value.
AUGUST 16, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Edgar Mendez - Active in loss Mendez created two chances from four crosses (one accurate) and put one shot off target during 68 minutes of Saturday's 4-1 loss to Real Madrid.
Impact Mendez wasn't able to score any goals for himself, but he still logged a solid stat line that could look even better when the opponent isn't as strong defensively. That's the kind of attitude he'll need over the next two games when facing Mallorca and traveling to Valencia.
AUGUST 16, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Joselu - Opens account with penalty goal Joselu scored a penalty goal from two shots taken (one on goal) during Saturday's 4-1 loss to Real Madrid.
Impact Joselu played without any help from Lucas Perez and still managed to get onto the scoresheet in the first game of the season. With any luck, he'll turn this goal into an early burst of form as up next on the schedule are Mallorca and Valencia.
AUGUST 16, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Ximo Navarro - Out with muscular injury Navarro will miss Saturdays season-opener against Real Madrid due to a small tear in his right thigh.
Impact Navarro shouldn't be out for long with what is effectively a minor grade injury, but he'll still need a week or two to get back on track. This leaves a gap open at right-back that could be filled by Martin or Tachi against Los Blancos and beyond.
AUGUST 13, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Javi Lopez - Appears in friendly Lopez appeared in Friday's friendly against Al Nasr.
Impact Lopez had missed the last month of last season with a hamstring injury but looks set to be ready for the coming campaign. He made one start from nine appearances in the 2020/21 season.
AUGUST 9, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Facundo Pellistri - Rejoins Alaves Pellistri has joined Alaves on a season-long loan from Manchester United.
Impact Pellistri is back with Alaves after spending the second half of last season with them. At 19 years old, he's expected to fight for quality minutes after receiving five starts from 12 appearances last season. While in an attacking position, he's still looking for his first goal.
AUGUST 5, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Mamadou Loum - Joins Alaves on loan Loum signed with Deportivo Alaves on loan from Porto for the 2021/22 season.
Impact Loum has mostly ridden the bench in the last three seasons, so this move could give him a chance to prove what he could do. As a defensive midfielder, his value may not be great unless he can avoid picking up too many yellow cards and is able to start every game.
JULY 27, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Florian Lejeune - Heads to Alaves Lejeune has signed a permanent deal with Alaves away from Newcastle.
Impact Lejeune is back at Alaves, but permanently, after starting 34 matches for them last season, securing eight clean sheets. He's expected to return to that starting role for them in the new campaign, though his center-back partner may be a revolving door.
JULY 22, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Ivan Martin - Joins Alaves on loan Martin joined Deportivo Alaves on a season-long loan from Villarreal, it was announced Tuesday.
Impact Martin scored four goals and added six assists in 33 appearances for Mirandes last season in the second division. He'll now attempt to make the step up to Alaves, where he'll try to support two talented forwards in Joselu and Lucas Perez and develop his own career along the way.
JULY 13, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Taichi Hara - Heading to Alaves Hara signed with Deportivo Alaves from NK Istra of Croatia on Thursday.
Impact Hara isn't far into his professional career, but after scoring eight goals in 18 appearances last season, his promise was enough to take a gamble on. Given some of the difficulties in finding a backup to Joselu and Lucas Perez, Hara could have plenty of chances to start games and rack up crucial minutes during his first season in Spain.
JULY 8, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Carlos Isaac - Joining Alaves Isaac is joining Deportivo Alaves from Atletico Madrid following the completion of his loan to Albacete.
Impact Isaac graduated from the Atleti academy and will join his new club after a successful year starting over 20 games in the second division. He'll provide more depth at right-back behind Timo Navarro.
JUNE 21, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Toni Moya - Signs with Alaves Moya signed a two-year contract after transferring to Deportivo Alaves from Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.
Impact Moya has only made a handful of appearances for Atleti's first team, so his next stop should be his first shot at a proper role in the first division. As another central-midfield player, Moya will have to compete for minutes in one of the deepest areas of the pitch for Alaves.
JUNE 1, 2021 • ROTOWIRE

MAY 23, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Fernando Pacheco - Concedes two in win Pacheco conceded two goals and made zero saves during Sunday's 4-2 win over Granada.
Impact Pacheco had kept a clean sheet in the previous match against Elche but has otherwise conceded nine goals in his last six starts. Hell finish out the season against Sevilla, and it's worth making sure he'll actually start after the survival of Alaves in La Liga was already secured in Sunday's match.
MAY 17, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Luis Rioja - Scores in win Rioja scored one goal from two shots (one on goal) in 73 minutes of Sunday's 4-2 win over Granada.
Impact Rioja scored for the second straight match and made a third consecutive start to help his team assure their participation in La Liga next season. Even though he seldom completes full matches, his recent goalscoring form could make him quite valuable in the season finale against Sevilla.
MAY 17, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Lucas Perez - Sets up final goal Perez provided one assist from six chances created on nine crosses (four accurate) and put all three of his shots on target during Sunday's 4-2 win over Granada.
Impact Perez went almost four months between assists but still ranks eighth in the league in crosses and can contribute a solid scoring floor on a good day. The final game of the season will prove a bigger challenge against Sevilla, which have conceded 33 goals in 37 matches.
MAY 17, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Victor Laguardia - Provides assist in win Laguardia provided one assist from one chance created and put one shot on target during Sunday's 4-2 win over Granada.
Impact Laguardia contributed to his first goal all season to set up Joselu's third goal in his last three matches. With five interceptions as well in this match, Laguardia put up a solid all-around performance for fantasy. He'll finish out the season against Sevilla, which could prove a tough challenge through the talented Youssef En-Nesyri (18 goals scored this season).
MAY 17, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Joselu - Scores for third straight game Joselu scored one goal from two shots (one on goal) and created one chance in Sunday's 4-2 win over Granada.
Impact Joselu put away his team's third goal of the match and scored his third goal from the last three matches during Sunday's win. Now that their survival is secured, Joselu could play with even more freedom against Sevilla, which are tied for the fourth-fewest goals conceded to forwards.
MAY 17, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Ruben Duarte - Gets goal in win Duarte scored one goal from two shots (one on goal) and created two chances from three crosses (one accurate) during Sunday's 4-2 win over Granada.
Impact Duarte has dealt with some injury issues over the last month but he's still a solid value with one goal, 10 crosses and five tackles made in his last three starts. He'll head into the season finale against Sevilla, which feature two dangerous threats on the wings with Lucas Ocampos and Suso.
