
Christy Winters Scott is a women’s basketball analyst for the Big Ten Network, calling games throughout the women’s basketball season and appearing across various studio shows. Winters Scott joined BTN in 2016, bringing her knowledge of the game from a successful playing career.
Winters Scott was a four-year letter winner for the University of Maryland from 1986 to 1990. In 1989, she was an integral part of Maryland winning its eighth Atlantic Coast Conference championship and reach its third Final Four. As a senior, Winters Scott was a first team All-Atlantic Coast Conference player, ACC All Tournament player, and Kodak All American, All-East Region selection as she led the Terps in scoring with 533 points (17.8 ppg). After graduating from Maryland, Winters-Scott headed overseas where she spent a year playing in Pistoia, Italy and another two years in Fribourg, Switzerland.
After her playing career, Winters-Scott became an assistant coach for George Mason from 1993-1997, Maryland from 1997-2002, and Georgetown from 2004-2005. In 2005 Winters-Scott left Georgetown to accept a head coaching position for her alma mater, South Lakes High School. In 2014, her South Lakes team earned their first district championship since 1997, with a record of 26-4. During her coaching tenure at South Lakes, Winters-Scott began her media career on CTV76 in Maryland. In 2012, Winter Scott became the new Wizards studio host and called collegiate basketball.
In addition to her duties with BTN, Winters Scott provides analysis for the Washington Mystics and the Wizards television broadcasts.
